Making Homemade Kumbucha

I am loving my homemade Kombucha!!!!  I drink at least a bottle a day!

Are you making Kombucha?  I am and I am loving it!!! It is so fun to play with flavors.  I was making 6 gallons a week....now, I am making only 3.  Three is enough to drink and pass out to friends.  If you are in my area and want me to teach you how to make it, let me know!!!

Making the 3 gallons of tea.  Sugar, black tea and flavored black tea.  Let it come to a boil and then cool.

This is the F1 process. Once the tea I cooled, I add it to the "scoby/mother" with a cup of starter. I then it ferment under the towels for 7-10 days.  It really depends on the weather in the house.  The warmer my house, the quicker the process goes.

I then add organic apple juice to the bottles and I let it sit for another 7 days. This is the F2 process...

once completed it's good a month in the fridge

They say Kombucha has lots of anti-microbial powers and is full antioxidants, it helps sooth ulcers and improves the function of your pancreas.   Helps with your digestion and arthritis. It supports your liver.  It improves your mood. it helps you loose weight.  It helps you detoxify ... This one I can say is true!  I have one friend who calls it her "poop juice".  I can say  I've never been so regular myself!!! It also reduces the risk of heart disease and they say prevents cancer.  also lots of nutrition. Helps with your good cholesterol. Boosts immunity.  Treats type 2 diabetes too. I can't say that you will have all these changes or experience any of these benefits.... I'm just listing some of the things they say about Kombucha.

Updated tea storage

After (below)

I switched cabinets.  My dad has made these two great cabinets.  I had the smaller one in the kitchen and the bigger one in the living room with my dishes in it.  But now it is time to switch- lol!  Trying to keep my tea organized!

I think I have as many tea cups/mugs as tea now :)

Back to work in 2018

Enjoying headed back to work with my Kombucha.  It's 2018 and I'm trying to drink healthy.  My homemade Kombucha is very healthy.
I've read lots of different articles- not sure what is true, what might be an exaggeration - but I know I enjoy the taste and it has lots less sugar than soda!

taking naps and drinking tea with the cat

I love naps, tea, and creating items.  I have a Facebook page " Gift in the Giving" where I sell some of the things I've made- mostly jewelry.  I love having a creative outlet.  On a weekend of at the end of the day I find it so relaxing to create something.   God has gifted me with a creative mind- I love to write  ( hence my four published books), knitting, and my jewelry. I want to use those talents to bring Him glory.

Enjoying tea and a nap!!

I have a great napping buddy, Shakespeare.

I have a cat that loves it when I make a chai and put whip cream on top!  I woke from my nap to find her licking the sides of the mug.
