Amoda Turmeric Latte

When you go to the cafe a Golden Milk latte can cost you around $3.50-$5.00.
But, you can make them at home cheaper and the way you like it.
You can get this 2.47 oz for $16.00, that gives you about 25 lattes.

Golden milk, also known as haldi doodh in hindi or as turmeric milk in popular culture, is a drink with a lot of history. ... The basic recipe involves combining animal or plant milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and some kind of sweetener. Some recipes also include black pepper, nutmeg, or other spices and sweeteners.

The potential benefits of golden milk include:
1. Reducing inflammation
2. Preventing cell damage
3. Improving mood
4. Supporting brain function and improving memory
5. Preventing heart disease
6. Possibly reducing the risk of cancer
7. Lowering blood sugar levels
8. Boosting the immune system
9. Improving bone health
10. Aiding digestion

I am loving Golden Milk.  I have aches and pains in my neck and back, but I think the turmeric helps.  Plus, there are lots of other benefits too.

What's In It:
All Organic Ingredients: turmeric powder, fennel powder, true cinnamon powder, ginger powder, anise seed powder, raw vanilla powder, black pepper powder.

Amoda recommends this recipe:
Try it:
1 teaspoon Golden Turmeric
2 teaspoons coconut manna/butter or oil
8-10oz of hot water or hot nutmilk
Sweetener of choice (optional)
Blend on high for 20 seconds

I make my lattes really simple.  I use oat milk or soy milk or almond milk to coconut milk- depends on what is on sale.  Although oat milk is my favorite- it is deep and rich in flavoring.
I put milk 8-10 oz oat milk in the frother, add 1 tsp golden turmeric and froth.  I don't add a sweetener since I am watching my weight, but you are welcome too.  I used to love maple syrup in mine.
My frother mixes, froths, and heats.  I add ice in mine in the summer to cool it off.  It is so delicious!!

As you can see the froth on this latte.  I just love it.

I love these lattes.  So good, so easy to make. I love black pepper in this blend.  I don't taste the vanilla, but I am fine with that.  The flavors that come through are so amazing.  I just love it!

Thrift Store Finds

Do you like old things?  I do, I love eclectic and vintage.  I have found the best way to get this look is to go to 2nd hand stores and thrift shop.

When I get these old pieces I love to use them.  How fun is it to eat blueberries from a vintage dish from England.  Oh, the stories this dish could tell.

I got all these dishes for $2.00 at our local thrift shop.

I also picked up some $2 teapots.  I will use these for decorations inside or outside...not so much to serve tea with.

This pattern ALWAYS reminds me of some youth pastors that used to be in our church when I was 6 or 7.  I can remember that they had us over and that there dinning room table was a picnic table and there dishes were this blue design.  Every time I see this design I think of the Bartas.  I saw this teapot for $2 and I knew I needed to add to my collection.

This is just another $2 teapot.  Maybe it will be another wind chime or maybe a flower pot.

I got this electric water heater for $10 (yes, it is really a coffee percolator).  It will be great for teas.  I smelled it hoping coffee had never been in it.  Once I cleaned it out and tried water from it and I confident that no coffee has been in it.  This is great to make lots of hot water at one time.

I also picked up, yet another, tea steeper.  These sell for around $20 and I bought it for $1 and it looks like it was never used.  These come in handy when I have tea parties so that people can each make their own personal cups of tea.

This was a great day at Mission Thrift!!!  I hesitate to tell you where this place is, I don't want you sweeping in and getting all the great deals.  hahaha.

Tremont Coffee Co, Mango Peach Iced Tea, Massillon

I was out for my Wednesday Wandering and wanted to try this place.  I have heard good things about the Canton location, so I went to the Massillon location215 Erie Street North Massillon.

At this location you are not able to pay cash, but they said soon they should have cash.    I would definitely have preferred to pay with cash, however they said they opened during Covid and just have never had cash at this location.

I got the Mango Peach Iced tea, I thought it was a bit pricey,  Overall service and prices were not great.  The tea was good and the flavor was nice- but with the price and the service, it brought the cup rating down to a 2. I will give them another chance since maybe I hit them on an off day.
