Sure House Chai and scone for British National Tea Day

Some days you just need a tea, and then there are some days you HAVE TO HAVE TEA!  British National Tea Day is a day you HAVE TO HAVE TEA!

Deb and I popped into Sure House for some chai's.  They are great!!!  And we discovered gluten free scones here too...so we figured it was a British thing to do.  So we grabbed scones too.

Body scrub made with Earl Grey Tea!!!

Earl Grey body scrub????...come on!
How excited am I to try this out!!?

They were giving these away for free at Ladies Night.  I can not wait to make these and give them as gifts.

2 C. granulated Sugar
4 packets of Earl Grey Tea
1/4 C extra virgin coconut oil

I tried using this at the sink, and I would recommend the shower.  It is a scrub, not a soap.   Using it as a scrub I enjoyed it and the Earl Grey scent.

It was ladies night at Lehmans Hardware in Kidron.  Lehmans is a super special place for me.  Not only did I work there for about 8 years, but my uncle founded it.

My first day of work...my dad and I rode to work together.  We would leave at like 6 am...we ARE NOT morning people.  Sometimes we would ride the entire way to work and not say a word.

I loved working together!!!  That is what I missed most about working at Lehman's- working with my dad!  He is the best.  We both than had Tuesdays off, we would sometimes go to auctions together on those Tuesdays.

I worked there with my dad and lots of cousins, my aunt, and uncles.  It was my first real job.  I worked there in the 90's.

Uncle Jay and I .  I miss him.  Heaven's gain a few years ago.

My mom and I headed there for ladies night.  It was $20, but you got a free dinner, money saving coupons, treats, and freebies. We had a great time together.

This was our free dinner- an $8 value.  The food was good and we were pleased.

They also had a photo booth area....of course we took advantage of this area.

We all got free goody bags- this is what I came home with...

I love hanging out with my mom!!

Tea in Punta Cana DR- Cafe Santo Domingo - hot chai and frozen matcha

I was in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a missions trip.  I wish I could show you the kids I worked with.  They were amazing!!  The DR is beautiful and the people are so friendly and lovely.  I just wish it was not so hot, lol!!

One day I took the kids up into the mountains to visit some monkeys and a botanical garden.

So beautiful and lush!  We had several rain showers along the way.

These squirrel monkey's were adorable!!  They only weighed about 2 pounds.  They kept jumping from person to person.

I needed to get supplies for some Minute it to Win it games, so we headed to downtown Punta Cana for some shopping.  We headed to the downtown Punta Cana Mall.  The store I love is Jumbo.

I was excited to get a chai latte at the mall.  I remembered this place from September 2021 when I was last here.  This was the only place I was able to find tea in the area.

The first trip I got a hot chai.  It was incredible!!!  I loved it!!! It's got a chocolate creaminess to the chai.  Their is a spice and sweetness to it, it was so good!  The conversion would be 115 Dominican Peso and only $2.13 for the US dollar.  SO WORTH IT!!

Price is good!  Staff was friendly and the taste was incredible!!!  One of the best chai teas I have ever had...I think even better than last year.   The only thing I wish the cup was bigger!

Shopping in Jumbo- the grocery store.  Kind of like a US Walmart or Target.

I picked up some Kombucha to enjoy during the week as well.

We finished grocery shopping and I went back for another drink.  This time a frozen matcha.  It was really good and refreshing too.  The US cost is $2.59- what a deal!!

The matcha only gets 4 teacups because it was a little sweeter than I like.  But, still good.

A few days later a friend wanted to some in to town, so I brought her here.

We bought chai lattes- it was so good!!  I mean, really good!!  These chai lattes were only $2.13 in US dollars.  I wish I could have gotten one of these everyday!!!

The uber into town was only $5., but a taxi ride was $15.00!  I would recommend the uber!  I felt extremely safe in the both, but the Uber is so much cheaper!!

5 teacups for sure!!!  I only wish they were about twice the size!!

On our taxi ride home I looked over and my friend was licking the inside of her cup.  I could not help but laughing.  I knew we were kindred spirits!  We both could not get enough of the chai lattes.

Ahh, DR,your beauty almost makes up for the humidity...almost.....

Waffle O Waffle, Coconut Raspberry Matcha tea x2 and Lavender Coconut tea

Friday I headed up to Beulah Beach for Labor Day weekend and the annual benefit auction.  I saw that there was a tea place I had never been to in Medina.  I could not wait to check it out.

Waffle O Waffle in Medina, right off 42.

This cute little shop is really fun and the staff is super friendly.  The lady who runs it came out and chatted with me about the different drinks she could make for me.

They have a few seating areas and also a room with items you can purchase.

I ordered from the computer at the counter.  I thought the prices were very reasonable for what I was getting.

I wasn't sure if I wanted boba in my drink, so she gave me a little container of boba to try.  I honestly liked it without the boba even better.

I have to say it was the absolutely BEST matcha drink I have ever had.  I got a coconut raspberry Matcha tea (with a small amount of boba)

It looked beautiful and tasted amazing!!!

I even left the beach on Sunday to be sure I would be able to get more drinks on the way home....true story!!!   They close at 4pm on Sunday, so I made sure I left by 2pm.  See below what I ordered on Sunday.

So many options too...you need to stop in and try one of these tea drinks.

5 tea cups!!!  Price was good.  Service was good.  And the taste was outstanding!!!  The raspberry was like a sauce or jelly that was in there.  It was around the edges of the cup.  The matcha was really good- not too grassy.  And then the coconut milk was perfect.  I can't say enough great things about this drink!

I drove up to the beach...And stopped and said hi to this Moose that is in Wellington.

Here is my cabin for the weekend.  I love this little place.  It faces the lake and totally spoils me.  The view can't be beat.  When the weather is cool and the windows are open you hear the waves crashing on the breaker wall.  I just love it and it reminds me of when I lived up here.  And it makes me miss it.

I was gifted this cabin last year for a week and I was blessed to be asked to stay in it again.  I am amazed at generous people.  And I am not sure I can ever stay in the hotel again...with shared bathrooms and no kitchenette...lol.

Here is my view....

After the weekend of relaxation and time with God and friends I headed home.  I made sure I stopped in Medina again for more tea.

This time I got the coconut raspberry matcha again and then a coconut lavender tea.

Yep- I have two!!!!  And I drank them all the way home.

This little shop is tucked in the back of this shopping area.  But, so worth the trip!!

The coconut raspberry was just as good as I remembered.  And the new lavender coconut tea that I tried was great too.  These are 5 tea cup drinks!!!!  Very refreshing and the flavors are spot on.
