Ohio Tea Co shopping and Kabab and Curry Chai

I get Wednesdays off in the summer and I take my Wednesday Wanderings.  This is the last one of 2022.  I spent the day with my parents.  We went for my favorite Indian food.  I love the lunch special with all the varieties of choices.  The food is amazing.  You get all of this for like $13.00  I highly recommend it!!!!!

The chai is pretty good too.  It has no sugar, so I do add a sugar packet to it, lol.

We then headed to Ohio Tea Co on our way home.   How convenient it is right along the road on the way home?

My mom and I noticed these Pu-erh cakes/balls.  We each got one to try.

We chatted with Terry and looked for new items.

They have so many fun teacups and teapots.  And their prices are really excellent too.

Look at all the tea!!!  How fun is that??  They also have little sample tins so you can smell and see the tea.  The teas are stored in the air tight tins.  This is the way all tin should be stored.  Sure, it looks pretty in glass- but having the sun hit the tea is not good.  Store your tea in a cool, dark, air tight container.

My mom and I had a lot fun at Ohio Tea.

Here are the teas I have purchased.  I love this place and their tea.

*since making this purchase I have made the maple chai and the pumpkin chai- and I love them.  Terry says he got maple crystals from Vermont and added it to both chai teas.  It is a great sweetner. I am enjoying both of these teas in midst of this fall season.

Prince of Peace, Wild American Ginseng Tea

Okay, I am always up to try a new tea.  And if I don't like it the first time, I want to give it a second chance to be sure it is not for me.....  Well, this is a tea that I could not finish.

It tasted like dirt to me.    I guess Ginseng is a root, so that is fitting right?  But, it is good for you so I wanted to like it.

I gave it to the president of my company and he enjoyed it.    Just goes to show we all have different taste buds.  He recommend I mix it with another tea to mellow out the ginseng.  So,  that is what I will try next.

Ginseng is said to give you more energy, possibly lower blood sugar, boost immune system, may benefit brain function, and more.

Bubblelicious Mango Oolong Milk Tea

While in Wisconsin to see the Packers Play....My friends and I went to church and then to Mayfair Mall for lunch.  I was super excited to find a Bubble Tea shop.

They had so many options!  Lots of flavors of teas and lots of toppings.  It was hard to make a decision.

I ordered the Mango Oolong Milk Tea without the bubbles.  Oolong is my favorite kind of tea and I like a good milk tea as well.

I gave the tea 5 teacups.  The staff was friendly, the price was okay, and the flavor of the tea was fantastic!!  I would get another one in a heart beat.

We then drove the two hours to Green Bay for the game.  We got to watch the Packers beat da Bears.

GO PACK!!!!!

We had so much fun!!  What a fun weekend...short weekend but so much fun!!!

We also did a geocache on the way home.

Making Candied Apples with Maple Chai Tea

My office was having an apple contest.

I decided to make the candied apples I used to love as a kid.  I then added Ohio Tea Companies, Maple Chai Tea for some depth of flavor and some warming spices.

I peeled and cored the apples.

I took 4 Tbsp Chai Tea (in a tea bag)
2 Tbsp Caramel Syrup
2 bags of Cinnamon Candies
1/4 C Sugar
5 C water

I melted the candies in the water mixture.

Once the candies were melted I added apples to the liquid.

I added all the apples.  I kept stirring and making sure the liquid got on all the apples,

I changed my aunt's recipe a bit, below is her recipe.

After 15 minutes I put the apples in the 9X13 and poured the liquid over the apples.  I put in the fridge overnight.

I served them cold - but you could easily serve them warm.

We had lots of fun items submitted.  And I didn't win anything, but I was glad I created a new recipe.

There are a few things I tried.  The sandwiches were my favorite- I ate it without the bun.

After my lunch my friends and I went in search of Sunflowers....we were not successful.  But ,we had lots of laughs.
