Ohio Tea Company- Green Rooibos vs Red Rooibos

Super excited to get into Ohio Tea Company today!!!

I picked up two Rooibos teas....okay before you say, but you wait you don’t like Rooibos teas, I learned something today. There is green Rooibos and red Rooibos. And when I told Kurt I like Winter Wonderland Rooibos but not other Rooibos- he said maybe I liked green and not red Rooibos. I had no idea that there were two kinds of Rooibos.  (Never too old to learn)  So I got my free 1/2 of Dragonfly green Rooibos and then tried Bonita green Rooibos. He said Bonita is new and good iced! I let you know if it is a green vs red thing. Love Ohio Tea!!!!!💜☕️💜☕️💜💜

I did some checking and I learned that green rooibos has higher levels of antioxidants than red rooibos.  Both of the rooibos teas come from a plant in the Cape Region of South Africa- the locals call it Bush Tea.  Both are caffeine free. The difference between the two is in the processing. Red rooibos is oxidized (exposed to oxygen), green rooibos is not. Instead, green rooibos is dried (halted by steaming the leaves) soon after picking so that it doesn't oxidize when exposed.  Red rooibos has a full-bodied flavor with caramel notes and steeps into an amber-hued cup. Green rooibos has a more delicate, herbal flavor and steeps into a light orange-yellow cup.

If you sign up for their email newsletter you will get a 1/2 ounce of tea for free each month.  It is a FANTASTIC way to try new tea.

If you have not been here, you need to check it out!  You can also go on line and buy their tea.

Steaz Tea on Sale at Fresh Thyme

I went into Fresh Thyme the other day for the first time.  I liked the store- it was bright and clean and full of fun things to try.  I saw Steaz tea on sale for $1 each.

Ingredients: Filtered Water, Natural Flavors (Raspberry & Other), Erythritol, Green Tea, Lemon Extract†, Flavor, Stevia, Natural Flavors

I forgot that I had tried this tea before and that it had stevia in it.  I can not stand the after taste of stevia.  I wasn't even able to finish the tea.  I took it to work and let others enjoy it.

Thai Lanna Tea

I was in need of some Thai food and some new teas to try.  When at the Ohio Tea Company they told me of a Thai restaurant that gets them their Thai tea from Thailand.

I was super excited to see that they were open.  So, I headed to Canton for some Thai and some fun tea.

I ordered the appetizer sampler plate.  It was delicious!  I was not disappointed with the food here.  This place must be good, because people were coming and going the entire time I was here.  They have a pick up window, do carry out, and dine in.  It looks like on Monday they have a sushi special, so I want to try that sometime too.

I ordered a pineapple bubble tea.  It was incredibly good!!  It was refreshing and the pineapple flavors were strong and on point.  The bubble tea had the tapioca balls.

The Thai tea is just like I remember from Thailand.  It has strong Thai tea flavors with sweet and condensed milk.  It has a unique flavor.

My favorite might have been the butterfly peas lemonade.  Its half herbal butterfly tea and half lemonade.  Butterfly tea is blue and then when they add lemon to it it turns purple.  It is sweet and I loved it.

I recommend this restaurant- the food and tea all great!

Matcha Green Tea Gelato, DOLCE at the Strand

It's in the 90's and I need a pick me up....Dolce gelato does that for me!  Their gelato is so good. The gelato maker comes from Italy and they use Hartzler Dairy milk.

from the website, "Welcome to DOLCE at The Strand, an Italian themed gathering place featuring handcrafted Italian gelato, cocktails and pastries. Brought to you from your friends at Valley Cafe.

DOLCE is a fun, welcoming atmosphere for the family, to grab your thoughts, a cappuccino and biscotti, or to experience a unique evening of sweets, savories and cocktails with friends and neighbors.

Whether you are enjoying your gelato under the old movie screen and chandeliers, sipping your Aperol Spritz on our patio or rolling the Bocce balls on our courts, we hope you come away from your time at DOLCE feeling refreshed, connected, and wanting to come back for more!"

This is my second time here and I have loved it both times.  It reminds me exactly of the gelato I had in Italy.  The Matcha is really good.  You feel kinda like you are having a "healthy" treat.  I also really enjoyed the peach sorbet and the pistachio.

The fun vibe at the DOLCE is really cool too. It has some of the old theatre items- like the Marquee out front.  Makes me miss the Orr Theare in Orrville.   Sometime I want to come and sit outside, but both times I have been there it was way too hot for me.

I love when towns have unique shops that really nail it!  This place nails it for me.  I hope they are around for a long time to come.
