2nd Annual Summer Tea trip to Dragonfly in Canal Fulton Ohio

BLOG Post 1000- since 2013

I love my office, they are giving us the compressed work week again this summer.  I get to work 4 ten hour days and have a day off the in the middle of the week.
To celebrate my first Wednesday off, I got a group of ladies together and we went for tea at Dragonfly in Canton Fulton.  That is my favorite tea house in the area.

Last year this is the group of ladies that went for lunch.  It is not a tradition.

My only problem with this tea room (and others I have been too), is that they put the loose leaf tea in the tea pot and then it over steeps and becomes bitter.  You then really only get one cup of tea..  We asked for steeping balls and they only had 1.  The ladies scooped out the loose leaf tea out of their pots.  It made a mess.

They need more steep balls! After we ate and went to the gift shop and they had steep balls there, so I said they should have used those for us.

I got the  Victorian Tea  for $16.95
It included:
  • Pot of Tea - I got Raspberry Oolong and it was excellent
  • A scone (I think they were pecan something) and Devonshire Cream
  • Assortment of 3 finger sandwiches- chicken, pimento, and cucumber
  • Assortment of Desserts- strawberry, chocolate truffle, cream puff, and lemon bread
  • Spinach Quiche, Salad, Bread & Herb Butter

I am always pleased to see the place full when we are there too.  I love that they are doing so well!!!  Places like this need to stay in business.

Barb, ,Aunt Mabel, Linda, Heidi, Abby, my mom, and I

We had a delightful time!!!  This maybe my last time eating at this location- they are moving to a new building.

Look at all that delicious goodness!!!  There was so much food.   The butter bread was good, but that is something I could pass on.  IF they felt it needed something else, maybe gourmet potato chips, or some apple slices or an orange wedge- but I don't think anything else is really needed.   The quiche was excellent and so was the salad.

I have always thought they do a great job with the food.  And I think you get a nice variety for the money.  One of the reasons this is my favorite in the area.

This is my plate of yummy treats.  The finger sandwiches were all in flower shapes.  The pimento may have been my favorite.

And we ate it all....

Going up the side walk to the tea room, they are lined with flowers and teapots on shepherds hooks.  That is what gave me the idea to do at home.

Passion Iced Tea Starbucks after a wonderful wedding

My neighbor and good friend got married on Saturday.  I am so excited for him!!!
Here I am with the grooms sister and nephew.

Since my friend was my neighbor growing up my parents are friends with him too.  So we all went to the wedding.  Above my mom and I, and below is my dad and I.

After the wedding I went to Starbucks to spend money from my gift card.  I ordered a tall, I thought that would be the largest drink.  When it came out it was the smallest.  I asked if I could get the largest, she said that was a venti.  Who knew????

I said I would pay for both, but she said no, she'd give me the "tall" for free.  Nice of her, since it was my mistake.

I enjoyed two Passion Iced Teas, with half the syrup.

Here is my friend and his new wife!!  It was wonderful to see this man of God find his godly woman.  They both were praying to find the partner that God had for them.  And they did.

He and I have been friends for over 40 years.  His family moved into my grandma's home years ago and we shared a driveway and a friendship ever since.

Synergy Grape Chia

I tried this chia seed Kumbucha.  On it's own I love Kombucha.  On their own I like chia seeds in drinks.  But together, to me this was a fail.

There was not as much carbonation in this kumbucha and there were WAY to many chai seeds.

I think this is the first GTS kumbucha that I had not like.  The other drinks are all really great, but if you see this one, I would pass on it.

Tealive, Malay bubble tea

The food court of the mall.

While in one of the malls in Penang, my friend and I decided to try the bubble tea.

I got just a regular milk tea with bubbles.  It was good.  I had the options of getting the grains of Japanese Tokachi redbeans or grass jelly instead of bubbles, but I went for bubbles. I guess next time I will try something different, but when I am hot and thirsty I want what I know will be good.
