Hydro Flask vinyl vs laser engraved

I purchased this 40 oz Hyrdo flask.  I love it. It works a lot better than my Yeti.  I feel that it really keeps things cold. I wonder if I purchased a bad Yeti.  Anyway, I love this Hydro Flask.

I went online and purchased some vinyl stickers.  I would NOT recommend vinyl stickers for mugs/jugs/flasks....even though they say they work.  Within in a few weeks letters were coming off.  The vinyl stickers did not hold up to washing, even thought I was only hand washing.

We have a FREE laser printer at our local college. So, I headed over there one Saturday to laser engrave my flask. Now, I don't have to worry about the stickers coming off.

We set up the design on the computer.  I twas very scientific...I let the computer lab guy so all the math.

In less than 10 minutes in the laser machine, I had my mug completed.  Totally thrilled with the way it turned out.  I recommend seeing if there is a local college near you that offers this free service.

I now have my favorite things on this mug, my love of Jesus, tea, travel, and a moose....

Merry Christmas 2018

I hope you had a great Christmas- celebrating the true meaning of Christmas...JESUS!!!

Luke 2:1-20 New International Version (NIV)

The Birth of Jesus

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,

and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Little Berry Hibiscus Justea

I am a big fan of this new tea company I discovered- Justea!  I am making their loose leaf tea at work.
A fair trade tea from Kenya Africa  With each tin you get a great hand carved spoon.

I purchased their Little Berry Hibiscus.  I was expecting an herbal tea, but when I looked closer I saw it had rooibos in it.  I was really nervous the first time I tried it, since I typically do not  like hibiscus.   But, there were enough other things going on in this tea that rooibos was not front and center.  I could taste it, but it was not over whelming.

I took it to work and everyone who tried it liked it too!!!  Turning my office into a bunch of tea drinkers!

-side note, I made this tea at my home tea party, and not many people liked it. One or two people said it tasted like cough syrup. I did not have that experience, but as you may be learning everyone has different taste buds.  If you try the tea twice and you are not a fan, don't toss it, you may find a friend who loves it.

di Tazza, my favorite chai place!!!!

I am not a big walker, but when I can walk my sisters dog, Brooklyn, and involve tea I am in!!
While in Vancouver Washington I wanted to be sure to visit di Tazza and have my favorite chai.

I discovered di Tazza a few years ago on a trip to see my sister and her family.  I also discovered that they make the best chai!  I am not sure who they use for their blend, but it is smooth and has a nice bland of spices.

Brook and I chilled outside after our walk since it was a beautiful day.  She liked the cold water too.

If I had time I would have gotten food here too, it is always scrumptious.  But all I had time for this trip was the chai.

Advent tea calendar - English Tea Shop

I got this as a gift and I love it!!!!  Today is December 1, so I happily tried day 1’s tea.

This tea was really good.  It was almost chai like with a hint of sweetness- the pomegranate.  I made 3 cups!!

I googled tea advent calendars and was surprised at the prices....but if you scroll all the way to the bottom you see the best deal.

I’m hoping my friend was able to take advantage of this deal when she bought me this 😀😀☕️☕️☕️

Hibiscus Blueberry Republic of Tea

I was in Homes County Ohio with friends.  We were playing tourist.  At Walnut Creek Cheese, I found some Republic of Tea loose leaf tea.  I have never been to a store that had bulk loose leaf Republic of Tea.  I was like a kid in a candy store.  Lifting lids and smelling the tea.  Reading labels and getting giddy about all the choices.  I wonder why more shops do not have the loose leaf option.  It is so much better then the bagged option.

Walnut Creek Cheese has a nice selection of tea and tea flavoring.  It was super fun to browse their selections.

from the website: "Tangy Nigerian hibiscus mingles with the lush, deep flavor of blueberries in this fragrant, floral blend. Sip and sigh as you revel in hints of berry and bright citrus flavors in the hibiscus. We've also added a touch of lively rosehips and sweet, juicy apples."

I ended up purchasing this loose leaf tea- blueberry hibiscus.  It is so delicious!!  I made it into an iced tea the other day. It was not overly tart with the hibiscus and the blueberry is a nice touch. It all blends so nicely together.

My friends.  We usually only see each other at Beulah Beach maybe once or twice a year.  But, they were in my neck of the woods, so I took a half day of vacation to be tourists with them.  It is wonderful to have friends like these ladies!!!
