Making a Teacup Nativity Set

I had several friends send me this cute Nativity picture and say I should make one.  I looked and I could not find the super small Nativity people.  So, I did improvise.

I went to Hobby Lobby and found some small Nativity people.  And everything Christmas related is 50% off...win win.

I had the cup and the glue, so all I needed was the star and the Nativity people.  This craft is costing me less than $8.

If you don't have a teacup, thrift stores are a great place this time of year to pick them up for a $1 or $2.  I went with a more vintage looking teacup since I thought my Nativity people were more vintage looking.

The angel was the hardest to balance on the cup.  I put some of the extra greenery twigs under her to raise her up so she did not tip backwards.

Only one figure would fit in the cup- so Jesus went inside the cup with a little greenery.

Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

I played around with the people before I added glue. I knew I wanted the Wiseman on the side...to show that they were traveling there.  It ended up that the Shepherd and sheep were on the side too...I mean they had to travel there too...but, just not as far as the Wiseman.  It took them over 3 years.

I then added greenery around the cup.

Matthew 2:1-2"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?'

Luke 2: 8-14

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Try it and get creative.  Let me see what you come up with too.

Psalm 96:3
Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!
