Day 6 of tea drinking continues.
While in Duhok I wanted to get some coffee for a fried back home. We walked into this coffee shop, and I was shocked to hear Lauren Daigle on the radio. After being gone for a week, I was surprised how much I missed hearing music in English and a song I knew and loved. It instantly made this place feel even more comforting. I loved the vibe and atmosphere in the cafe.
There is a nice selection of drink...both coffee and tea.
1500 IQD or Denarii = $1
3000 Denarii = $2
4500 Denarii = $3
I ordered an Earl Grey. It was very nice black tea. It was 3,000 Denari. It was good Earl Grey; the bergamot was not over whelming. It played nice with the back tea.
They roast their own coffee beans here. It smelled so good. Even though I don't like coffee I can appreciate the aroma for sure.
The cafe was light and bright. It was inviting and calm. I would have loved to sit with a book or my laptop for a few hours.
They also sell some other items that appeared to be locally made.
I love the coffee mural on the wall. I have a friend who has a coffee shop at home in the states and I sent him a video of this place. It was gorgeous. I love the addition of the pomegranates too...there are pomegranates all over here. They say they have been grown here for over 5,000 years.
The restrooms are western style, which I am appreciating more and more on this trip- lol!
We also met the owner who was very nice and helpful with information. My friend loves rugs, he was able to give her a local rug shop that she could visit.
We then went to Hope for Tomorrow, a cute shop. It is full of beautiful handmade items.
Duhok was very nice city and I enjoyed it. We also visited the dam there before we headed home to Erbil.
I Peter 4:10-11, ESV
10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
