GTS Watermelon Kombucha

Earl Grey is checking out my new flavor.

It was a hot day when I was in the grocery store and saw Watermelon Kombucha.  I thought I would give it a try.  I have to say I really liked it.  It was refreshing and had some notes of cherry and lime in it.

It was unique and I have to say I enjoyed it.  Not a flavor I would want on a regular basis, but on a hot day it hit the spot!

BOH, teh tarik Ginger

I discovered BOH when I was in Malaysia last year.  I love the pre-made/instant tea that you just add to hot water.  This one has ginger in it and I love that taste. It also has powered milk so there is a creaminess to it that I really enjoy.  The only draw back to this particular kind is there is stevia in it and I can taste it.  It's not as strong as in some tea, so I am still enjoying it.

When I ordered this it came right from Malaysia.  I enjoyed getting it direct from them.  I am not sure if you can buy it anywhere in the states or not.  I have not seen it anyway.

This package was actually lost in the mail and I was refunded for my order.  It took over 2 months to arrive, but getting it for free was worth it.  It was a nice surprise when it did show up - since I was not expecting it at all.

"By combining Malaysia´s favourite national drink “teh tarik” with the warming effects of ginger, BOH has created a unique, spicy instant tea. This BOH instant tea is named “kurang manis”, which means “less sweet”, as traditional Teh Tarik can be very sweet. Instructions: Just empty the contents of one sachet into a mug. Pour in approx. 180 ml boiling water. Stir and “tarik” (pull from one cup to another to your liking), and it´s ready to serve. Product weight: 312 g Ingredients: black tea powder, cane sugar, non-dairy creamer, tricalcium phosphate, ginger extract, stevia. May contain traces of gluten, lactose, soy and their derivatives. Fun TEA items at World Market

I love going to World Market.  I can always find the funniest new things there.  I enjoy looking for unique tea items.

I found this fun chocolate with tea in it.  It is really good and I really enjoyed that it was on sale too.  There is green tea in this chocolate, but I was not able to taste it.  But, it felt healthier knowing it was in there.  They say dark chocolate is good for you.  I know I enjoy it!!

I also picked up at bottle of kombucha.  I like Wonder Drink, it is from the Portland OR area.  I first had it while visiting my sister out in the Portland area.

This Asian Pear kombucha has really nice flavors.

okay, I tried these and they were not good.  I ended up just eating one and throwing the rest away.  It was like eating rubber.

I was excited to find these.  Normally $3 something, on sale for $1.99 with 55% off, it made them.62!!!  The Guava one is really sweet for me. But, I enjoy the Pineapple Mint one.  I did a blog about this tea, that you can read more about this tea there.

Still Sharing Tea outside of Quarantine....

I took bubble tea to the ladies that my mom works with....

There is always that one guy.....I am back at work and still making tea, hahaha.  This one co-worker has me make him iced tea when he is in the office.

Funny, that even when I play Words with Friends, the computer will ask me if I want a spot of tea...lol!!!

Looks like a tip from someone for some tea I made.  I found money in my teapot the other day.  It made me chuckle. I guess it had been there for over a day before I found it.

I made bubble tea for a friends birthday.  The girls all showed up with their own cups and I made them bubble tea.

Republic of Tea, Iced Tea

I went into Fresh Thyme, In Canton Ohio, for the first time. I wanted to see what teas they had. I was super excited to find Republic of Tea - iced tea on sale. Normally around $9 in other stores, they had three kinds on sale for $6.99. 8 pouches of iced for $6.99 is a great deal. Check them out if you are out that way.

I got two new flavors I have not tried before.  I will say I really like the Hibiscus Sangria one.  That is my favorite of the two.

Shui Zian Oolong, Ohio Tea Company

I went to Ohio Tea the other day and asked what new teas they had.  This Oolong was one of them.  Oolong is my favorite kind of tea.

I was excited to take my tea on the go set and have tea at work.  This is a good tea to make in the Gaiwan tea set as well.

This type of tea is pretty old, not this tea, but this kind of tea.  It is not as sweet or floral as some of the Oolongs I prefer, but I still enjoyed it.

This is the more brown twiggy Oolong as opposed the the rolled Oolong.

Shui Xian is an oolong tea from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China with a heavy honey fragrance. This Oolong tea is named after Narcissus, a Greek mythological figure. The tea is oxidized to about 60%, and its taste improves with age. It has a subtle burnt taste and is very popular with Chinese restaurants. The infused color is very dark brown showing that the tea is a very dark Oolong

I added the water to the pot, which was 185 degrees.  I then measured out my one teaspoon of tea and added it to the pot and let it steep for 4 1/2 minutes.  It says 4-6 minutes, but I like to do it on the lower end to get more cups of tea out of one serving.  But, play around and see what you like.

This tea pot hold exactly enough water for two cups of tea.  It is fun to drink from these little cups.

This tea is darker and probably not a tea I would drink a lot, but I did enjoy it.  Next time I have Chinese food I will make this tea.  It does have a slight burnt taste, but they say that does well with Chinese food.  Also steeping it a shorter time it does not get as strong as it could be.  I will keep it on the more mild side.

You can read more about tea in Asian restaurants.  I found this VERY interesting.

Ohio Tea Company, Bonita Green Rooibos

I picked up Rooibos teas....okay before you say, but you wait you don’t like Rooibos teas, I learned something today. There is green Rooibos and red Rooibos. And when I told Kurt I like Winter Wonderland Rooibos but not other Rooibos- he said maybe I liked green and not red Rooibos. So I got Bonita green Rooibos. He said Bonita is new and good iced! I let you know if it is a green vs red thing. Love Ohio Tea- they are so helpful and knowledgeable !!!!!

From the website,  "Green Rooibos Bonita is light-bodied with a natural subtle sweetness, green rooibos plays well with a variety of flavors. This summer fruit inspired blend of green rooibos with peaches, strawberries, and citrus is juicy, nectar-like and supremely refreshing. This "palate pretty" medley of flavors is "muy delicioso"; hot or iced and naturally caffeine-free.

Extra Info:

Rooibos is well known to be one of the most relaxing hot beverages you can brew. The needle shaped leaves of the Red Bush, (Latin: Aspalathus linearis) produce a caffeine free drink that is noted by nutritionists and health consultants the world over for its soothing character.

Ingredients:

green rooibos, orange pieces, marigold flowers, strawberries, natural peach flavor, natural strawberry flavor, natural orange flavor. "

Learn more about Rooibos tea, I found this a great read.  https://simplelooseleaf.com/blog/green-tea/green-rooibos-tea-benefits/

I took my tea pot and strainer to work and made myself two pots of tea during the day.

It is true...I like green rooibos.  This tea is really good.  It is light and has great fruity notes.  This tea is really good hot and cold.

Enjoying my kK cup!  It is like it was made for me- kerrie Kaufmann
