Panera Chai Tea

I don't often indulge in purchasing Chai Latte's- they are often pricey and not always that great.  But, last year I discovered that I did actually enjoy Panera's Chai.  Still pricey, but the tea has great flavor.  I find that some chai teas from shops really just taste like they are from concentrates.  I know this chai has a concentrate blend, but it doesn't taste of it.
The chai has a nice clove taste, but not overly strong.

Beulah Beach and Kombucha

https://www.beulahbeach.org/

Spending the day at my favorite place- Beulah Beach.  It is the church camp I grew up going to.   For the last 10 years I have been going to Beulah Beach over the Memorial Day weekend for the benefit auction.  Each year they raise money for the camp.  This year they raised over $170,000. Nothing better than pointing people to Jesus!!!!

I took some kombucha for my friend to try.  We had fun drinking tea and laughing Friday night.  I love being able to share Kombucha with people.  She already made Kombucha, but she did a straight black tea- I was teaching her about fruit flavored tea.

One of the best things about the auction is being with friends!!!  I have known these gals for over 25 years.  We were used to be camp counselors together.  I love them!!

Raging Sage Gold Rush Tea and a Tea cozy

So, on Sunday my friend (who had just gotten back form a mission trip) said to me,  "I am working on something for you and it should be done soon".  I asked what, and she said it was a surprise.  Boy, was I curious!!!  I thought maybe she learned a new recipe and wanted to try it out on me.

Monday she messaged me and asked if I wanted to stop in for a spot of tea.  I said for sure!!!  It had been a super stressful day, so a spot of tea sounded perfect.  Now, I was thinking that she had learned to make a new tea.

When I walked in her house I saw this adorable set up.  I was so excited, it was just what I needed- tea and treats!  I told her I loved the tea cozy.  She asked if I knew what it was, I said sure, it was a Volkswagen.

She said it was and it was for me!!  I was blown away.  She said she spent the 18 hours of traveling knitting this purple Volkswagen camper for me!!!  My love language is gifts, I was so touched by the thoughtfulness.  What an incredible gift!!!!

She saw on one of my other posts the purple Volkswagen camper then about a week later she received an knitting email and this was the pattern.  she said she knew she had to make it.  How amazingly sweet and thoughtful was this??!!!

I love the front lights and the tail lights.  so fun!!!

Heidi made Raging Sage- Gold Rush Tea.  It is her favorite tea from Tuscon AZ.  We enjoyed cookies, cheese, crackers, chocolate covered pumpkin seeds, and tea.

GOLD RUSH- Passionfruit, mango, black tea, cornflower, blue mallow blossoms, marigold petals, safflower, and natural tropical fruit flavoring.

She asked if I new what the license plate said....I said KCOT1.  She asked if I knew what it meant, I said no.  She said it was for Kerrie's Cup of Tea 1.  How clever is that??

My first ever tea cozy!!!  I had never bought one cause I could never find the perfect cozy.  This is the perfect cozy.  Fits me to a "tea".

she also knitted the phi skirt- it took her a year.  its incredible!!!!

Miss Molly’s Tea Room

I have not been to Miss Molly's in about 15 years.  I really enjoyed Miss Molly's when I was younger,  it was at another location and we to go once a year or so. But, it seems the older we got, the less we went.  I have only been to this other, "new", location.

But, work has been stressful, so I decided to treat myself to some tea and sandwiches.  I was headed to Vermilion for the Memorial Day Weekend and Miss Molly's was right on the way...so, I almost HAD to stop :)

I have to say I enjoyed the food, it was very good.  But, I was not as pleased with the tea.  I ordered the Coconut Oolong.

As I have found with other tea places, they do not prepare the tea properly.  Tea places need to either:
a. prepare the tea in the back and bring the in the pot already made
or
b. Put the loose leaf tea in the bag so I can I pull out when the tea has steeped.

Because when you leave tea in the tea pot it is only good for so long.  The first cup of tea was good, but the second had over steeped and was bitter. The waitress said she would get me another pot, but I was okay.

When I sat down, they lighted the candle in my cup.

I enjoyed the blueberry scones with clotted cream and raspberry jam.

Coconut Oolong - the first cup was great!

3 Sandwiches, a cup of chicken and rice soup and chips for $10.50
(Cheese, Chicken, and tuna)

I enjoyed the Tea Room Sampler

I have always enjoyed tea places...this place is Victorian and very fun.  Not so much my decorating style- but they rocked it!  They went all in with the style and really did it well.
