who am I

I have told you about Kerrie's Cup of Tea...but who is Kerrie?

*First and foremost I am a child of God, that makes me a daughter of the Risen King. God is first and foremost in my life.

*Next I am a daughter, sister, and aunt. I have two amazing parents, two wonderful sisters, two great brother-in-laws, one terrific niece and three incredible nephews.

*I am a friend

*I am a ESL teacher to some amazing students

*I am an assistant Sunday School Teacher an INCREDIBLE group of Jr. High students

*And to support myself and my cat, Shakespeare, I work for for an insurance company. Some day my dream job is to own a tea shop.

*I have recently lost over 50 pounds-okay, that was back in 2011/2012. In 2013-2015 I have put 30 of that back on...but I will be working at trying to take that off again - I need to drink more green tea!!!

*In my free time I drink tea, make jewelry, write (I have four published books), knit, attend rodeos, watch NASCAR, watch HGTV, take photos, go on mission trips (Over seas I've been to Africa, Spain, France and Thailand) , work around my 100 year old house, go on adventures, entertain, and hang with family & friends.... and basically embrace my singleness- it's a gift right now.

*God has blessed me with an amazing life- I want to give Him all the glory!!!!

Taste Test Chamomile

Chamomile Tea is a popular herbal tea widely thought to have a calming and relaxing effect. Chamomile, sometimes spelled camomile, is a family of related plants; most of the chamomile used in tea is the species Matricaria recutita. In addition to being consumed as a tea on its own, chamomile is a common ingredient in herbal tea blends. It is used both as a beverage and as an herbal medicine. These plants belong to the Asteraceae family. The flower heads are the primary plant parts used in herbal medicine.

Normally I am not a fan of Chamomile tea, but I had four different kids, so I thought it was a good tasting for the kids :)  See what we all thought of the taste testing....

In the hustle and hurry that have become so much a part of our lives, it's important to take a moment at the end of each day to unwind. Sweet Dreams® Herbal Tea, a blend of chamomile and hibiscus flowers with its mild and soothing flavor, will add a peaceful note to the close of your day

The calming qualities of Chamomile are legendary.  This caffeine-free blend of chamomile flowers with a hint of lemongrass results in a mellow citrus delight. 12 tea sachets.

lemongrass, chamomile, malva, marigold and rose flowers

what did the family think?  It was pretty split.
Novus- 3 number 1's (Christy, Ryan, & Josh)
Tazo- 0
Yogi- 2 number 1's (Mom & Katie)
Bigelow- 1 number 1's (ME)
My favorite was the Bigelow tea, then Novus (which is owned by Bigelow), then Tazo, and then Yogi.  I thought that the Yogi was really bad. It had a long licorice taste.  Interestingly enough the Yogi was my mom and nieces favorite tea!    This is a quote from my nephew Josh, "The Yogi one taste like sunscreen!". It just shows that everyone has different taste buds!!!
