Mom and me tea, Wadsworth Kerries Cup of Tea and New World Spice and Tea Traders

I was super excited to partner with Wadsworth's New World Spice and Tea Traders again.

New World Spice and Tea Traders, is right off the square in Wadsworth Ohio.  Its the blue building...

This is the second class I have had with them.  We did a chai class in March and now this Mom and me class.

This event is the perfect opportunity to get out those Spring Dresses and spend some one-on-one time bonding over a love of tea with your littles.

We can't wait to see you!

We had only 7 sign up for this class, but only 5 showed up.  But, the 5 had a great time!!  Those who didn't sign up, missed out.

Sonia, the owner, made some great cucumber sandwiches, PB&J sandwiches, had some short bread cookie, and fresh fruit.  She also had a chocolate vinegar for the fresh fruit that everyone seemed to like.

The lady next door to New World makes and sells cookies.  They were delicious!!  I would recommend these if  you are looking for some treats for a party.

I did a mix match of dishes for the tea.  I told the kids to pick their seat based on the tea cup that they wanted to use.

We had a green tea base and a black tea base- or they could go all fruit based.

There was hibiscus, mango, ginger, tangerines, strawberries, pineapple, currants, cherries, and blueberries.  I had each person taste the fruit so they could see what the flavors.  I wanted them to see what they like to help determine what fruit they would like to add to their tea.

If they picked green tea, they would take take the yellow sand timer- which was 3 minutes.  If they took the black tea, they would take green sand timer for 5 minutes.

Steeping time is super important when making your tea...your water temp is super important as well.  If your water temp is too hot it will burn the leaves and make the tea bitter and astringent- if you have a white, green, yellow, or oolong tea.  Also you don't want too over steep or it will become bitter.

Decisions, decisions!!  The kids made 2-3 different teas while at the tea.  They then made one to take home as well.

During the tea we talked about tea and where it comes from.  We talked about water temp and steeping time.  We talked about tea etiquette as well.  We shared about other tea parties we have been to and what we liked to eat at a tea party.

These 5 tea guests were wonderful.  I am so glad they came and had fun.
