Surehouse, Iced Golden Milk Latte

When given a gift card to Sure House in Orrville, my go to is The Golden Milk Latte.  It is so nice to have a coffee shop in town that also does some really good teas.  My favorite tea they do is the Golden Milk Latte.

Golden milk, also known as haldi doodh in hindi or as turmeric milk in popular culture, is a drink with a lot of history. ... The basic recipe involves combining animal or plant milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and some kind of sweetener. Some recipes also include black pepper, nutmeg, or other spices and sweeteners.

The potential benefits of golden milk include:
1. Reducing inflammation
2. Preventing cell damage
3. Improving mood
4. Supporting brain function and improving memory
5. Preventing heart disease
6. Possibly reducing the risk of cancer
7. Lowering blood sugar levels
8. Boosting the immune system
9. Improving bone health
10. Aiding digestion

When I get my latte, the Golden Milk with oat milk and maple syrup on ice.  It is so yummy and really healthy for you.

The flavor is good, the only reason it did not get 5 tea cups is the price.  But, I get that it is about making money.  And I really do love this drink.  This was the first place I had ever tried the Golden Milk Latte.

Brew Dr

I first discovered this kombucha when I was at my sisters in Vancouver WA.  I love the flavors.  These kombuchas were on sale, so I picked up two bottles.
I really do like my homemade kombucha, but I do have to say that I there are several companies that I love and if they have a sale I will pick up their kombucha, Brew Dr. is one of those companies.

The Island Mango is made with a green tea.  The flavors are so great.  You get the zing of the ginger and the sweetness of the mango fruit.  I am a fan!

Island Mango
Ingredients: Brewed tea (water, green tea*), mango puree*, cane sugar*, passionfruit juice*, ginger juice*, live kombucha culture (yeast, bacteria), strawberry essence.*  *Organic

Super Berry
Ingredients: Brewed tea (filtered water, oolong tea*, currant*, elderberry*, hibiscus*, blueberry*, goji berry*, strawberry*, raspberry*), cane sugar*, live kombucha culture (yeast, bacteria). *Organic

This super berry is made with an oolong tea, which is my favorite kind of tea.  I love fruity berry and tart hibiscus flavors.  I think it is near perfect.

These are great kombuchas. Flavors are fantastic. Prices are reasonable.

I enjoy using the bottles as vases.

Brewed Awakenings, Iced Salted Caramel Chai Latte, Vermilion OH

I spent a week in Vermilion Ohio on vacation.  It was my summer camps 100th birthday.  It was a great week.  There were speakers, music and lots of friends.

This Bible Camp is super special to me, I have been attending the camp since I was 8.  I even lived there for a year and was the guest services coordinator.  I know that God is no closer to me here, but I always feel closer to Him here.  I felt the call to missions and service while at one of the camps.  It is just such an incredible place.

The flowers in Vermilion were in bloom and looking beautiful.

One afternoon I when I was in town I stopped for lunch at Brewed Awakenings.

They have a nice selection of teas and the prices are good too.  I have popped in here several times and I am always pleased with what I get to eat and drink.

I had a great chicken salad and really delicious Iced Salted Caramel Chai Latte.

The iced Salted Caramel Chai was delicious.  I got the salty notes with the caramel.  The chai was more sweet then spicy.  It was a great mixed.  I thought it was great.

I give this tea 5 tea cups.  The flavor is spot on.  The price is good.  The staff is friendly, the place is clean.  I recommend it.

This town is so quaint and adorable.  I love when I get to come up.  I get up there 2-3 times a year.

I love these paintings, they are all over town.  Next time I want to try to find them all.  I think I saw close to 10 this year.

My camp, Beulah Beach.  This view of Lake Erie is from the camp of the Christian Missionary and Alliance churches.

Tea Drops, Golden Latte with coconut milk

Earl Grey loves to help me blog about tea.  Isn't he adorable??

Because I am currently loving turmeric and adding it to food and drinks, I wanted to try Tea Drops Golden Latte.

The potential benefits of golden milk include:
1. Reducing inflammation
2. Preventing cell damage
3. Improving mood
4. Supporting brain function and improving memory
5. Preventing heart disease
6. Possibly reducing the risk of cancer
7. Lowering blood sugar levels
8. Boosting the immune system
9. Improving bone health
10. Aiding digestion

I got this as a set, but you can purchase the turmeric tea drops on their own too.  This set comes with 5 Turmeric drops and 5 coconut milk packets.

You put the turmeric tea drop in the cup.  Heat the water - since it is an herbal tea, you can have the water over 200 degrees.

Add the water and then add the coconut milk and stir.

This is for 8 oz of tea.  But, found it really sweet, so  I added another 4 oz of water.  I then got more tea and it wasn't too sweert.

The flavor is good, but really sweet.  The price is also a lot.  I did it more to try it, but I don't think I would buy it again.  You get 5 teas for $15.00.  I would buy the turmeric tea itself, but not as a set. If you buy them just the drops you can get 10 drops for $14.00.  Still pricey, but better.  Again, the drops have palm sugar, so that is another draw back for me.

Skinny Piggy Kombucha - Ginger Snappy and Sun-kissed Lavender

I was grocery shopping and I discovered this kombucha.

I bought this kombucha at Giant Eagle.  It was on sale and I have to say I loved it!!!  It was pricey if it was not sale, sine it was only a 12 oz.  But, on sale it was worth trying.

I can't remember which kombucha I liked more, I just loved them both.  This kombucha is very flavor forward.  You knew exactly that you were drinking a ginger or lavender kombucha.  I love that the calories are low too.
The ginger kombucha is made with a black tea and the lavender is made with a white tea...so, the ginger tea would have more caffeine than the lavender tea.

I also like that there is no stevia or artificial sugars in this kombucha, I like the cane sugar.

If you see this kombucha at a good price I would recommend you try it out.

The only reason they get 4 tea cups and not 5 tea cups is because of the price.

I do like to use my kombucha bottles as flower vases too.

Dragonfly Tea Room

This is the 3rd year I have gathered my friends to go for tea to start my summer schedule...I get Wednesday's off when I work 4, 10 hour days.

I love the Victorian Tea- you get so much food for $16.95 and the food is so delicious!!!

We start with a salad and quiche with some garlic toast.

Then they bring out the finger sandwiches and desserts.  You also get a pot of tea or unlimited iced tea.  I discovered their hibiscus lime iced tea and I went with that again.

Look at all this food!!!  They brought out these tiered trays and 3 of us split it...each getting a cheese sandwich, a chicken salad sandwich, and a cucumber sandwich.  Also then we each get a scone, lemon bread, chocolate truffle, an eclair, and strawberry.

We had this special little man join us this year too.  He was so well behaved, he may get an invite every year.

They even have some fun tea items for sale too.

They have an outdoor area where they do music and other events.  They have a winery and B&B as well.  I am so happy to see this tea room growing and prosper for them!

I had a wonderful coupon to use that was helpful as well.

As always the Dragonfly delivered!!  I give them 5 tea cups.  The price is great for the food we get, the food is incredibly tasty, and the staff is super friendly.  I just love this place!  This is my favorite tea room I have found in Ohio.
