Sub Rosa Tea

I am having a super fun Saturday with my parents.  They wanted to go somewhere in Millersburg and I asked them if they wanted to go to Wooster with me for the Home Show.  We decided to combine the outings and spend the day at booth places.

I love my parents, they are the best people I know.  And, no we did not use the family restroom- we just could not resist the fun photo.  I love that they take these goofy photos with me.  My parents love me for the being the original that I am, I love that.

We went to one of my favorite places, Basil in Wooster.  They treated me for my birthday.
The restaurant even gave me coconut ice cream.  It was really yummy!!!

We headed to the home show in Wooster at the fairgrounds.  I wanted to visit Sun Rosa Tea.

I love this tea and the place place to see the tea is when they do these "shows/festivals,etc"

This is Stacie, she always has fun teas to try

Mom and I made some fun tea purchases.

These are the fun teas I purchased.  It's great that they now have a purple tea.  I am a fan of people tea, it's a blend that comes from Kenya.

Green, Black, White, Yellow, Oolong and Purple tea are all made from the same tea plant- it's when they picked and how they are processed that decides what kind of tea it will be.
Camellia sinensis is a species of evergreen shrub or small tree whose leaves and leaf buds are used to produce tea.

I bought, Purple rain, Green Walnut, Berry Bliss, Blood Orange Mango,  and Vanilla White Chai

8 oz- about 100 servings
2 oz – about 20 to 25 servings, or 1 gallon of tea½- about 5 to 6 servings

Tea Blogging

I love to blog about all things tea.
My cat, Shakespeare, loves to sit with me while I write.

I needed a flat table to type on.  So, I had a wooden tray table that I was not using, so I took it apart.  I took the top off and modge podged tea items on it.

It's great to have a flat surface to work on. It is light weight and easy to store when I am not using it.

Shake is watching me and does not like to be ignored.

Trying to give her some love.

Sometimes she wants all my attention!!!!  I am okay with that. I love this girl!

I also love answering questions!!!  A friend sent me this text message, it had me cracking up that she referred to me as a tea mentor.  I loved it!!!!  I love helping people discover tea and good ways to drink it and make the best cup.

I love to blog about learning to make Kombucha, drinking tea and traveling to new tea places.

Do you blog?  What do you blog about?

So, it's perfect around the office or during your afternoon errands.  Enjoy it hot or over ice. No matter your preference, it's an all-natural jumpstart to getting stuff done!

INGREDIENTS

peppermint, ginkgo leaf, raspberry leaf, ginger, and hibiscus" - from the website

A friend from work let me try this tea that her sister-in-law gave her.  It's a real nice mint tea with a hint of hibiscus.  It is a really nice tea.
I always enjoy trying new teas!  It's so fun with people share tea with me!  This one was a keeper.

Twining at work, hehehehe

Coconut oolong, The Tea Dude

A friend at work introduced me to the Tea Dude in Medina.  I am a fan!!!
One of my favorite teas is Coconut Oolong, and I love trying tea companies coconut oolong.  This tea is technically not an oolong, but I really like this tea.

This tea is full of coconut.  This tea is a mix of black and green tea, which they are calling oolong, but this is not a true oolong.

Oolong is neither a black tea nor a green tea; it falls into its own category of tea. Yet an oolong may end up with more black tea characteristics or more green tea characteristics depending on the direction the tea master takes in the processing of the tea. The biggest difference between oolong tea and black or green teas? Oxidation and shape.  Oolongs oxidation falls in between the black and the green.  Also, the leaves are usually rolled.
It is amazing to me how different all the teas can be and that they come from the same plant, the Camellia sinensis tea plant.

I made and enjoyed an entire pot of coconut tea.  It was really great.

Follow the directions of making the tea.  Use the right temperature of the water, the correct amount to water, the correct amount of tea and steep it for the correct amount of time.  Each tea can be different....doing it right makes ALL the difference.

This is my adorable cozy that my friend knitted for me.  I love it.

Enjoying this tea!

City Roast, West Side Market - Cleveland, OH, Iced Chai (and amazing crepes!!)

Another Wednesday Wanderings...love having Wednesdays off in the summer...

(This photo is courtesy of the internet-Wikipedia)

A friend and I spent my Wednesday off at West Side Market in Cleveland.  We love to try ethnic food, so we thought we were going to eat Cambodian, but were surprised to see all the food all made and being heated in a microwave there.  It seemed more to be take home food. We decided to keep looking.

We found a crepe place, right next to a coffee and tea place.  So, we decided to go French.  I decided to get an iced Chai while waiting.  The staff was not overly friendly...they seemed more intent on talking to each other then their customers. I had to ask to be waited on as they chatted with each other while counting their cash. They almost seemed annoyed with me asking about their tea products.

Customer service is key, and I was turned off here by the service I received.  I know we all have bad days, but sometime you have to fake it.  They did not seem to care about me as a paying customer.  I know I wasn't a super star, but they did not know who I was or that I was a blogger and had the opportunity to tell the world about my experience...good or bad.  So people be kind.
But, the chai was good.

The drink had a ton of ice in it.  If you go there and you get the chai, ask for light on the ice and maybe you will get more to drink.  Over all I was not super impressed.

The crepes on the hand were delicious!!!  We waited in line for probably 45 minutes, but it was worth it.

Heidi got spinach, brie, and ham.

I got the spinach, sauteed mushrooms, Gruyere cheese, mustard and pepper.  Boy, was it great!!!!

These were great crepes!  We made a great choice for lunch!!

Boy, was it hot and humid today.  You can't see I'm dripping in sweat- thankfully!

Look my name, and they spelled it right!!!
