Luna Cafe, Chai, Moreland Hills

A Wednesday off took me to Chagrin Falls area with a friend.  We were checking out Goodwill's, Trader Joes, and a fun lunch.

After doing some research of places to eat I found Luna.  Being gluten free, their options really appealed to me.

They have a really nice selection of food and drinks.

I ordered the grain bowl, a gluten free lemon crepe and a chai.  The food and the chai were delicious!!!

The food was beautifully plated and so tasty!  This is the way I wish I could eat everyday.

I am giving Luna 4 teacups.  They only thing holding them back is the price.  It was a bit pricey for the bowl and crepe I bought.  I know I was in Cleveland and prices are up, but I thought I should have either gotten more food, or the bowl should have been closer to $9 or $10, not $13.  And one crepe for $7 was a lot too.  Yes, I bought them, and yes I really enjoyed them...but I still thought it was a lot.

But, overall really liked it!!  The food was really well prepared and tasty.  The chai was very creamy and delicious.

The staff was friendly and helpful.  The cafe was clean.

Mate from Argentina

A friend went on a trip and sent me a package....Yerba Mate from Argentina.

I received a package the other night.  I was super excited knowing who it was from.  My friend does a really great job of picking up fun and surprising gifts.

Orange Pekoe were super excited about the box...not so much what was inside.

She purchased me Mate tea, real Mate tea, and leather Mate cup (Calabash) when she was in South America.
Las Marias has the biggest mate Tea plantation in Argentina.

The unique thing about Mate tea is that you put the mate in the cup with the water and you drink from a special straw, a Bombilla.  The bombilla is a straw and sieve or filter.  You keep adding water through out the day.

I find the Mate strong, so I only fill the cup about a 1/4 of the way up with tea and then the rest with water.  It is a fun and different way to drink tea.

It is so fun to know I am drinking the genuine article from Argentina.

Mate art is becoming a thing...I thought I would give it a try.  But, I realized I didn't have the same kind of Mate that they are using in their videos.

You fill up your gourd or cup with the Mate.

Add some water and put your straw in, and then add more mate.

Then you add your design.  They make it look easy and beautiful.

Spring Open House at Journey in Time

I was asked to be apart of the Spring Open House at Journey in Time.
Of course I jumped at the change to be apart of the fun day.

I always have fun setting up my booth and trying to decide what teas to bring to an event.
Today I had Butterfly Pea Tea- Purple Palmer and Peach Tea.
12 ounce teas were $4 and if you wanted bursting boba it was $5

I also had my wheel there to spin for prizes.

                            BEFORE                                                AFTER

My parents have a booth there, you can always check out there fun items...

I got to see the Easter Bunny too!

The gal beside me was selling yummy treats.   She had some delicious gluten free scones too.

My mom popped in as well as some other friends.  It was a fun day to share tea with people.

My friend Josh, who I went to high school stopped in- I had not seen him in 4-5 years.
Then my friend Christy, who works at Journey in Time was there, she and I hung out in high school too, even though we went to different schools...it was a mini reunion.

Let me know if you would like me to come to your event.

I can also do tea parties for large or small groups.  Message me if you are interested.

ahhh the free birthday teas

I love celebrating my birthday...and I love getting all the free things I can at local businesses.  hahahahaha

The day before my birthday my friend got me my favorite Refresher from Dunkin.  I love the strawberry Refresher.  I get it with half the syrup and more green tea.

The night before my birthday I planned out my route!  I went through the places I wanted to stop at and where they were located and I plugged them into my google directions and it mapped it out for me.

Happy 52 to me!  Below is my mom's card, I love getting her cards each year.

I started out at Sure House, my favorite local place for tea.  They have a great chai with lavender, or if I am feeling crazy I get the chocolate ganache which is aMAZing!!!
Today I did a dirty chai with lavender.  It was really good too.

I then went to Denny's for my free Grand Slam breakfast.   Very tasty!!
If you are gluten free like I am, just ask for a different side or more eggs and they will do that instead of the pancakes.

I went to Panera and got my free pastry and I have the free sips, so I got my first of two drinks for the day.

Then I went to Happy Trails, I love this Salvation Army shop near Fairlawn.  They don't have clothing, but I often find tea related things.  I got this adorable teapot for less than $10.

I then went to Blue, which is a great Goodwill store.  Everything is new!!  I was able to find some pants and a sweater there.  This is in Fairlawn and is a cute little shop.

Right next to Blue is Noddle King.  I have wanted to try this place out.  It did not disappoint!!
I ordered the Dry noodles, which  were noodles with sesame sauce, topped with chopped pork belly, green onions, cilantro and cucumber $7.95 and were excellent.
But my favorite was fried pork pancake appetizers!

Then I headed across the street for my free item at Starbucks.  I ended up with egg bites as my free item and then used my points for a free Passion Iced Tea.  I guess I figured I had not had enough tea yet, lol!

I then headed to Wadwsworth, since there was a Panera and a Dunkin there.   I thought I had a free drink at Dunkin, but they stopped doing free birthday drinks.  So, I used my free point and got a Matcha drink anyway, just to continue the trend.

Wadsworth had butterflies on some buildings around town, I found one of them.

I then headed to the Panera across the way and got another free tea with my Sips club coupon.

Yes, it was a lot of tea...and no, I did not drink it all in one day.  I saved two of them for the next day at work.

Of my birthday treats my favorite teas are:
Sure House, Chai with lavender.
Panera has nice iced tea that isn't too sweet.
Starbucks, Passion iced tea, half the syrup.
Dunkin, Refresher, have the syrup.

Check out the free items near you on your birthday.  I also got a Red Robbin burger, those are good for the entire month of your birthday.  They do now make you spend $8 to get the free burger...
I really only eat red meat once a year and that is on my birthday at Red Robin.  I do have to say it was a good burger.  I like that you can get a "lettuce bun".  And the endless fries are pretty amazing too.

And on another day I will go to Wooster and get my free tea at Caribou.

Thanks for the chai!!!!
