Te in New York City with an iced Mount Qilai oolong and some cookies

From Harney & Sons I headed to Te.  I am loving this adventure!

Not a care in the world.  Just watching people and following my tea map, I was a woman on a mission...a tea mission.

 Tea stop 4 of 7

I led a bus trip of 56 people to NYC this fall.  This is my second leading of this bus trip.  It is so much fun!

We leave my town in Ohio, at 10pm on a Friday night, drive all night.

Get dropped off in Chinatown around 6:30am.  Everyone gets to do their own thing around New York until around 9pm.

We are picked up at 9pm at Bryant Park, drive all night and get dropped off in my town at 6am Sunday morning.  All this for $185.00

I love the charter bus, red eye trip.  I am leading one this March to DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival.  This trip is only $165 per person.

Below is my tea map....I plan on stopping at least 9 tea shops in the 15 hours in NYC ( I did only make it to 7 cafes).

This unique and tiny tea cafe was in an apartment building.  I almost missed it.  There was not a lot of signage out front.

I think it might have been the smallest area I have ever seen.  But, you could tell it was a hit...the tables were full and people were constantly coming and going.

When I walked in I could see that there was very limited seating.  Maybe five tables.  The ordering area was tight too.  Everyone was very friendly and no one seemed to mind the cozy feel.  And neither did I.  I just wanted to get a snack or two to take home and a drink to go.

This felt like a little community spot. I like it.

Here is the To Go tea menu.

I loved that they had the desserts out that you could see and select from.  It really helped me decide what I wanted....sadly I wanted one of everything, lol.

I bought and snacked on these fun tea cookie snacks.  I enjoyed them.

I ordered a Mount Qilai Oolong Ice Tea.

The flavor notes were honeycrisp apple, lilac, and bamboo shoot.

This was a fun little stop.  The tea was good and I got the light notes along with the oolong notes that I really enjoy.  It is fun to try local tea shops that are not big tourist traps. I felt like a local popping into this little community cafe.

I took home a Taiwanese Mooncake.

This was a treat.  The light, flaky pastry on the outside with the meat inside.  I warmed it a bit and thoroughly enjoyed it!!

I got this with free points at CVS, too funny and wacky not to pass up.
