Shilton and Brampton England, visiting spots where Downton Abbey was filmed.

Stop 2 and 3 on the Downton Abbey Tour.

The Old Forge: This real-life building was transformed into the Red Lion pub for filming, so you can visit it to see where Mr. Bates worked after leaving Downton.

The Ford and Bridge: The village's ford and hump-backed bridge were used for a memorable scene where Lady Sybil and Tom Branson spend a night together during their escape.

Our tour guide.  He did a fantastic job.  We all thought he was great.  Super knowledgeable of London and Downton Abbey.

BRAMPTON....Stop 3.

Brampton was known in the 17th and 18th centuries for the leather and wool industry.

St. Mary's Church: Used for many events, including Lady Mary's wedding and the christening of Sybil's child.

Sybil and Matthews graves are were here for the movie too.

This is a real working church.  There was a man playing the organ while we were here.  It is from the town and they let him come in and play.  We waited until a service was over and then went in and walked around.

Check out the Roman numerals on the clock.  See anything unusual??

hint look at the "4".

Churchgate House (The Old Rectory): The exterior of Isobel Crawley's home was filmed here.

Church Green: This area, with a large tree and park bench, appeared in many scenes.

Church View lane: This picturesque lane was the location for many scenes, with its old buildings and stone walls.

Bampton Library: This building served as the entrance to the Downton Cottage Hospital.

Other locations: The village post office and two pubs were also used for filming.

In the library there is a gift shop that we enjoyed browsing through.

We then walked around the town and our guide told us about some of the houses.

This is a charming little town.  I could live here.  From my understanding houses here are pretty much 1/2 million and up.

While in Brampton, we had time to stop and get a tea.

We also needed to use the restroom, so if we bought drink or food we could use the restroom.  I was happy to get a tea!

I ordered a black tea, white.  Which means I wanted a black tea with milk.  I have the lingo down, lol.

I am quickly finding that most of the tea here is dark, strong black tea...and I really enjoy it.  I think of it as a Breakfast Tea blend.

Yep, I am happy!!!

And off we go to Downton!!  Another hour and half or so.
