Maison Skalli in Columbus for Moroccan Tea

 

A summer day off....yes, we traveled an hour and 45 minutes to try out a new place!  We did not regret it either.


Wednesday mid morning is a nice time to travel in Columbus.  The traffic was not bad at all.

This location had just opened up.  They have another location in Dublin Ohio.

The decor is so nice and inviting.







Dubai Crunchy Cup- an amazing dessert!


I love Kunafa!  this so reminds me of being in Erbil.  These kinds of desserts that had Kunafa and pistachios were all over!!  

I tried to make this last all day, but I couldn't, I finished before we got back home, lol.


The Maison Skalli Skillet


This was so good!
Homemade Moroccan bread was really delicious.  I used it to clean out the skillet.  They also will give you more olive oil if you ask for it.  


        Our skillet came with our own pot of tea.  The owner poured the first round of Moroccan tea for us.


I came for the food, but I REALLY came for some good Moroccan tea.  This was really good too.

Can you see the cloth that he is holding the teapot handle?  at the top of the cloth someone had made it look like a person.  There was a red hat on it and face, it was super cute!


    




      We clearly enjoyed the meal!!!  I ate everything and drank the entire pot of tea.


I highly recommend this place!!

Everyone was so helpful and friendly.  The food and the tea was delicious.  The cafe was clean and I just loved it!!

To make an 8 oz cup:
½ t scoop Earl Grey Matcha
 7 ½ oz Oat Milk
Ice
Hot water- enough to dissolve the tea


     I got 1oz of tea and I should be able to make about 10-12, 8oz cups of matcha.
 
                 
                                

Place the scoop of tea with some hot water.  Froth and dissolve.  Pour oat milk in the cup and froth.

Add ice to the cup.

Drink and enjoy!


I enjoyed trying this.  I love new tea things. This tea was very strong for me.  I need to do some playing with the measurements and milk ratio's.   The flavor of Earl Grey was there though.
