Coffee Fellows, Frankfurt Germany

I was so in need of tea!!!  I was in Spain for 10 days and I really only found good tea twice- once in old Torremolinos and once in Gibraltar.   I brought my own tea, so at least at breakfast I was able to start my day with a good cuppa.  But, I needed a good chai.

I had been up since 2 am and this chai hit the spot!!!!

The Frankfurt airport did not have a Starbucks Been There Cup for me- the reason I decided to fly home through Germany, but oh well.  And yes, I did pick Germany over flying back home through another place for the cup, hahahhaha.  I love to fly to different airports on my way and way back so I can see different things/places.
This time, I had been too all the options available, so I picked a place I wanted to get a Starbucks mug from.  I guess I should have gone through Zurich, lol!

This chai is getting 5 tea cups from me for sure!! Great flavor and it was just what I needed!  And I loved the foam on top!!!!  It was yummy!

Book Signing at Ohio Tea Co for The ABCs of Tea

It was a dream come true to have a book come out about tea and to be able to have a book signing at Ohio Tea Co in Canton!!

I wrote a book about tea.

A book all about tea- Black Tea, Oolong Tea, Pu-erh Tea, Green Tea, White Tea, Yellow Tea, and Purple Tea. And those other drinks people call “tea” (that do not have the Camellia Senesis plant) - Herbal Tea, Tisane Tea, Honeybush, Rooibos Tea, and Mate Tea. Ever wonder what the difference is between tea in China and tea in India? What is Darjeeling and what is Orange Pekoe? What is the difference between High Tea, Afternoon Tea, Royal Tea, and Cream Tea? What is the difference between a cup plate and a saucer? Find out these definitions and many more. All while journaling about your tea along the way. There are over 140 tea related definitions and 19 tea customs in this book along with fun color photos. Enjoy the ABCs of Tea. This book is meant to be a fun and easy way to learn about tea.

It is $21.95 on Amazon

Ohio Tea Co was also having sidewalk sales.  I had tried not to spend all my profits on tea and goodies, hahaha.

It was so much fun having new friends and old ones stop in and encourage me.  I sold 12 books, so I was really pleased.  You never know how something like this could go...it could be a big flop or you sell out.  It fell in the middle and I was thrilled!  My goal was 10 books, so I really pleased.

One gal I met when I did an herbal tea party in Medina.  She said that she used to only drink Chai tea, but I "opened" her eyes to all kinds of new teas.  She came out to get my book and some tea.  That was a highlight for me.  To know people follow me and are listening and enjoying the tea information I am sharing.

Friends from church stopped in, this was so fun too.  I adore their grandchildren!

They call me Kerrie Kaufmann- like that is my entire first name.  It is super cute.  We think is because they have an aunt Carrie and this is the way to tell us apart.  But, I love when I hear Kerrie Kaufmann, Kerrie Kaufmann from these little voices.  As one of them left, they looked at their grandma and asked if Kerrie Kaufmann was famous....hahaha, no my little friend, not famous.

I also made my Purple Palmer.  It was a big hit.  It was made with all Ohio Tea Co teas.

They seemed to enjoy my book too.  How precious are they???

There was also a poetry reading as well.

More friends stopped in to say hi and pick up books.  What a fun day.  It is always nerve racking as an author to put yourself out there and wonder how it will be received.  It was nice to have people say nice things.

My book has lots of definitions and photos.  There are also places for journaling too.

Indian Curry House Restaurant and Vakkaru Bakery

While in Spain we were given money to eat out each night.  I loved trying new places in the area.  One of my favorites was this Indian place!

The food was wonderful, prices were good, and the staff was very friendly.

I got Vegetable Samosas, Chaat, and garlic naan.

I am giving the chai 5 tea cups.  The flavor was great, there were hints of different spices.  It was creamy and it hit the spot.

Right around the corner from the Indian Curry House is an incredible Bakery!!!!

I tried several pastries here and they were all outstanding and the prices were great too. My all time favorite was the egg custards shown below.  I had a few and they were less than 2 Euro a piece.

I also had some apple strudel and a cheese Danish.  Both were fantastic.
My friends got bread and a few other things and they were really pleased too.  Man, do I wish we had places like this near me...or maybe I am glad we don't.

I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are in the area!!  It was incredible!!

Almaty Apple Mastile from the Middle East and a tea from Burma

A friend was traveling and picked this up for me to try.  She said that is what people in the area eat with their tea in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

I at first thought she said it was tea.  I could not figure out how in the world it was a tea.  I thought maybe I was to break it up and put it in water.  I was so confused, then I reached out to her and explained it was NOT tea, but I was to enjoy with tea.  Ahhh, that made so much more sense.

I had to do some google translating to see what she brought me and how to eat it, lol.  It was a really neat story about the history of apples in that area. (The story is translated below)

Almaty means Father of apples.  And they have wild apple forests there.
The capital, Alma-Alta means full of apples.

This is just apples and egg whites?? There is some powered sugar dusted on top, but it is basically apples and egg whites. We were all shocked.

We devoured it at work!  I saved some for my mom and dad to try and they liked it as well.

I had a tea from Burma that I brewed to go with the apple pastry.

Burma is also known as Myanmar.  When I think of Burma, I think if Yul Brenner and the King and I.  Burma is the northwestern most country of mainland southeast Asia.

This was a black big leaf tea.  It has nice brisk flavor.  I got notes of chocolate and a light smokiness.  I really enjoyed it with the apple treats.

What a delicious and fun treat!!!  I loved the apple pastry, my friend is going to try to make it.  I hope she succeeds!
