Thatchers Coffee- Jasmine Pearl Lemon Hibiscus Tea

Out in Vancouver on a beautiful day!!!  I was with my niece and nephew and they were taking me to some tea shops.  They get me-lol.
My niece said this was a good place for me to get tea, trendy place - so I told her I was in!!

The shop was pretty full and busy today.  They had local teas, which I love.  I went with a Jasmine Pearl tea.  A cold iced tea, lemon hibiscus iced tea.

From the website-

"Hibiscus, lemongrass, lemon balm and lemon myrtle give this blend its refreshing qualities. Brews a beautiful, deep red color. Our most popular herbal iced tea!

INGREDIENTS - Hibiscus*, Lemongrass*, Lemon Balm*, Lemon Myrtle*.  *ORGANIC"

No doubt, this is my niece!!!  She has this open mouth thing down!!

This was a really good tea!  I did not add sugar, it was not needed, it was sweet enough with the lemon in it.  The tea was cold, tart but sweet, and extremely refreshing :)

Love my niece and nephew.  We went to two tea shops today.  They were kind enough to humor me!!  Love these kiddos!!!

Oregon Chai 1/2 gallon pick me up

I like Oregon Chai...in the powdered form.  I am not sure what the difference is- but the there is a huge difference between the concentrate and the powered form.
I used to like the concentrate but lately, the taste is too "something"  I can not put my finger on what it is, but I don't like it and I can pick it out in chai drinks right away!
With the powered I can add milk, almond milk, coconut milk or whatever base I want.

Rough day at work, so I made a 1/2 gallon of chai!!

Adding whip cream makes everything better too!!

And since taking these photos I have also discovered adding flavored syrups.  I've been to several  coffee and tea places that have added syrup for me to my chai and I love it!!!  I admit I have only tried lavender chai- but every time it has been wonderful!!!
Monin Syrup and Torani Syrup is what I have seen the most.

Again, play with your tea!!!

Starbucks fall tall cup

I was in need of a new Starbucks tall cup.  Okay, maybe "need" is a strong word.  But, I wanted to to replace the one I had.  I dropped mine and cracked the base, and after that it was never the same.  I was excited to find this fall cup at the Cleveland airport.  So, now on my trip I could enjoy my new cup.  I love the fall design- pictures of sweaters, boots, scarfs, and more!

I threw the cup away- but now I have a spare lid and straw.  As you can see, it is clearly time for a new cup!!!  YA, for tall fall Starbucks cup!!

Pips Doughnuts and Chai

We went to Pips on Saturday, but the line was too long. We needed to be in out in less than an hour and we knew it would not happen.  It is crazy how popular this place is!  And why wouldn't be- it has great doughnuts and fantastic chai.
I had Pips for the first time in 2016 and I fell in love with it.

My niece, Katie and I.

I love visiting the Pacific Northwest!!!  There are so many great things about this area.  I love the food, tea, the sights...and the people.

We headed back to Portland on Sunday when we had more time.  As you can see Katie and I were pretty excited to be back!

Again, the day had long lines.  We waited 30 minutes in line.

The doughnuts are hand made.  I ordered a dozen for myself- but I did not eat them all in one sitting.  I also took some home to my nephew.  It was girls day and my nephew did not come, but I wanted to spoil him :)  I purchased him the Cinnamon, nutella and bacon ones.

My favorite doughnuts were the the bacon ones and the seasonal lavender ones.

I ordered a flight of chai.  My favorite is Emmylou!!!  I finished all the chai, except the Smokey Robinson- it was way too smokey.
5 chai's for $12.95, I thought that was a good price.

The doughnuts are delicious!!!  I would love to start a Pips in Ohio!!

I always said I wanted a tea truck.  Bubble Tea in the summer and Chai and Scones in the winter.  But, maybe I could do chai and doughnuts!  Pips rock!!!

Fun times with my niece and my sister.  I love making memories like this.  Sharing laughter, food, and tea.

Girls day!!!

Smith tea visit 2018, Nitro Chai

I love Smith Tea!  My sister and I first visited in 2013...and while we were drinking our Fez tea- the owner Steven Smith came out with his Fez on and sat with us.  It was wonderful to met him!!  I now try to get back to Smith Tea every year in the Portland area.

Had another fun visit to Smith Tea in Portland.  I only had a carry on- so I wasn't able to buy all the tea I wanted!!  I will have to have it shipped to me.  My favorite tea of theirs in the Fez tea.

While in the shop we noticed that they had free postcards that we could mail to people and they would put the postage on for us!!  Christy and I mailed one to our parents.  Christy then mailed one to her daughter Katie and to me.  I mailed one to my co-worker Deb.  It was fun to mail free postcards and a great marketing tool for them.

See the specials listed on the "board"

You can see all the busy workers making tea behind the counter.  I love visiting the tea shop.

Smith scones

I love that Smith Tea uses their teas to flavor other products!  I love seeing them expanding their products.  I hope this tea company is around for years to come!

Big  Hibiscus cookies.

They have teas on tap!  Love this idea!!!  The gentleman behind the counter let me try all four tea.

I had fun tasting the samples- Sparkling Meadow, Nitro Blackberry Black, Nitro Chai, and Sparkling Strawberry Honeybush.
My sister, Christy was with me- she liked the Strawberry Honeybush.

The Nitro Chai was my favorite.

from website,"A velvety cold beverage. Our Nitro Chai combines Assam teas with pungent ginger root, cassia, black peppercorns, cloves and cardamon to create a rich spice brew put on a nitro tap for an effervescent and delicious, creamy experience. Available at both of our Tasting Rooms all year-round. It is dairy free, but you can always add a touch of cream"

I bought some to go.  They put it in this can for me.  I got to watch them bottle it. Super cool!!  It is crazy- this nitro chai.  I have had hot chai, Cold Chai, Mate Chai, Chai in a smoothie, but nitro chai is completely different.  I liked it, not loved it, but really liked the uniqueness of it.

I got some swag for my computer!
