Miss Amy's Bakery Spiced Chai

I was excited to try the new hot coco bombs that I kept seeing on social media. It appeared every time I was on the computer these cocoa bombs were popping up.  They looked so great and I thought they might make great gifts too.

I did some searching to find them.  The first store I went to was out, they said that they were flying off the shelves.  So, then I went to Miss Amy's in Wooster Ohio and they had a few left.

Miss Amy's has all kinds of great looking treats!

I decided to get a few for gifts, and this spiced chai for myself.

These bombs were $5 each, which I thought was pricey.   They are big and packaged nicely, but I would have bought more if they had not been as expensive.  The price did not seem to stop others, as they were selling so quickly in the shop.

I made my spiced chai with heated and frothed milk.

Once the milk was heated,  I poured it over the cocoa bomb.  I could see the bomb starting to melt and gradually open.

Inside the bomb was spiced chai and marshmallows.  There was a lot of spiced chai inside, I wish I used a bigger cup, I think I could have made twice as much chai.

The spiced chai flavor was really nice. It was super rich.  There was also a gold coloring in it that was fun too.

I gave this 4 teacups.  The flavor was really good, but the bombs were really big and a bit pricey.   There was so much inside this bomb, that I could have almost made two cups.  I would think that if the bomb was a little smaller and a little cheaper that they may actually sell more and the flavor would be just as good.

Elephant Tea pot and Amish Fry Pie

In 2006 I went on my first overseas mission trip.  I went with a group of nurses to Africa.  I was the only non-nurse.  We went to help a hospital in Mali West Africa get up and running.

We had a free day and went on safari.  It was a dream come true.  It was incredible, super surreal.  My favorite, hands down, were the elephants.

One of nurses that went on the trip sent me this wonderful elephant tea pot.  She said that she bought it in Williamsburg.  Every time she sees elephants she thinks of our amazing trip...and I have to admit I do too.

Here we all are....we even slept in this hut the night we did the safari.

We rode on top of the jeep while we drove around looking for animals.  We did an evening sunset tour and then the next morning we got up and drove around a little longer.

We got to see the elephants heading to the watering hole. It was a incredible experience.

I even have video of the elephants charging us...ears flapping and trunks up trumpeting their warning cries to us not to come any closer.

This mom and its calf came back from the watering hole.  It was adorable.

Enjoying my new tea pot and Amish fry pies.  Have you ever had fry pies???
They are hand held pies.  They come in lots of flavors- apple, blueberry, rhubarb, red raspberry, and fruit you can think of.  And then there is my favorite, elderberry.

It does not get much better then using a tea pot that has special memories attached, a great mug, and a sweet treats!

Pioneer Coffeehouse, Peppermint London Fog and White Chocolate Chai, some of the 12 Drinks of Christmas

Pioneer Coffeehouse, a local coffee shop, is doing this great thing this Christmas....the 12 drinks of Christmas.  I love it!  So creative.  I went for the Peppermint London Log.

This is your Earl Grey with the great addition of peppermint.   All the proceeds from this drink go directly to buy Christmas gifts for children places in foster care here in Wayne County in partnership with

This was a really good drink.  A mice blend of flavors.  The peppermint may have over shadowed the London Fog a little, that is why it is a 4 and not a 5.  Still a great drink.

A few days later...

The 9th drink was the Coconut Chai Latte, I was excited to try that one.  I went a little after 12 and they were already out of coconut.  I guess it was a hit with a lot of people.  I went for the white chocolate chai.  I love that they are doing these 12 drinks of Christmas- it is great marketing too.

I was not sure I was going to like it, since I am not a big white chocolate fan.  But, I loved it.  The white chocolate was not over powering.  It blended really well with the chai.  I would get notes of the white chocolate and then of spice.    I surprised myself with thinking this is a 5 tea cup drink.

Purpose Purple Tea

I found this tea at World Market, with all the sales and discounts the tea was less than .50 a bottle.  I bought almost every bottle almost they had.  I was keeping my fingers crossed I would like the flavor.  And I did like it.

There is a real nice minty flavor and only 60 calories for the entire bottle.  I thought it was good and worth it.  Purple tea is really good for you too.  There are more antioxidants in purple tea than in other teas.

I am giving this tea 4 tea cups.  I enjoyed the flavor and the lack of calories as well.

I also purchased this Lemon Bliss flavor.  It is a winner too.  I  liked the hint of lemon in this tea.

Purpose Tea also give 5% back to help empower the woman who pick the tea.

Purple tea also has less caffeine then black and green teas.  I do enjoy these teas.

I gave this tea 4 tea cups as well.  I liked this tea flavor.
