Pioneer Coffeehouse, Iced Lavender Chai, Dalton Ohio

GRAND OPENING, July 27, 2019!!!!

It's Wednesday and my day off, so I am doing my Wednesday Wanderings and trying to find fun tea places in the area.  Low and behold there is a new one within 10 minutes of me!!!  Thanks to Facebook I see a new coffeehouse has had a soft opening and is Dalton!!!

Pioneer Coffeehouse just opened and is in Dalton, Ohio.  It is right off Rt 30.  I am so excited to try it out.

They have a drive-thru which I think is almost a must for coffee places.  I will pick one place over another if I know I don't have to get out of my car.  I always said to myself if I had a tea place, it would have to have a drive-thru.

Very fun vibe inside, modern yet industrial.  It has vintage items throughout .  I really like the woods, metals, and leather in the coffeehouse.  Very warm and inviting.

A nice area to chill.  There is free wi-fi so you can sit and chill with your computer and work for hours.

A nice amount of seating.  They have done a great job with the space.

The milk used it local Hartzler Dairy Milk.  I love Hartzler Dairy!!  I have known the Harztler family my entire life, we attend the same church.  They are wonderful, caring and giving people who love what they do and love the Lord.  I love that they are teaming up with another local business.

I ordered a Iced Lavender Chai Latte and a Cinnamon roll- which they call a Wagon Wheel.  It is a Pacific Northwest thing, he said. They take the Cinnamon roll and put honey and crushed pepper on it.  It is so yummy!!

This is the owner getting my treat prepared.  I told him I was a tea blogger and super excited about the place.  He shared all about the coffeehouse and the special coffee they had.  He said that there were also getting Hugo tea in. I am excited to try Hugo tea when I go back, I have never had Hugo tea before.

I love that a coffeehouse hasn't forgot about the tea.  I see it more and more that places that specialize in coffee are also selling some tea.  Even if they only have one signature tea like a chai- at least they have it and then they usually have bagged tea too.

The Wagon Wheel was different and different good!!!

The lavender chai was good.  The chai is syrup from bottle, but still good and with the ice and lavender it was refreshing.

Me and the owner, Andrew Keim.  Andrew is a Dalton local.

I am hoping this place does really well.  It is great to see local people having a business and not a big box chain store pop up.

7/29/2019 update

I went to the open house with my Aunt.  We enjoyed it a lot.  And loved the FREE Frozen Cow Carmel Lattes!!

Flowering tea, Rahzan

A gal at work brought in this flowering teas for us to all try.

Steep in warm water, not boiling water as to bruise the leaves, but hot enough to bring out the flavors.

It takes several minutes for the flower to open.  I let it steep for 3-4 minutes then it is ready.  The flower doesn't really bloom until the 2nd steeping.

It was okay, but not great.    Well, no, it was not even okay.  I did not finish it.  It was really grassy tasting.  I am glad I got to try it, I love trying new things, but this one is not for me.

Hydro Flask vinyl vs laser engraving

I love the Hydro Flask, I think it works better then the Yeti.  Yes, I said better than the Yeti.  I have the Yeti mug and I am not a hug fan.  It does not keep things as cold as they claim it would.  So, I am a sticking with the Hydro Flask.

I did the vinyl stickers on the flask, but they came off.  I was super disappointed, because I love those stickers.

Once the stickers came off, I decided to engrave the flask.  The laser engraving at Wayne College is free, I love that!!!!

It was super easy to set up the computer....with the help of the guy who worked there.

It turned out great, I miss the stickers, but I love the permanent engraving.

Camper teapot

I love the camper teapot look!!

If anyone sees one of these tea pots for less than $10 I am interested!!!  I think they are so fun looking.  If I could have a traveling tea camper to take on the road it would be so fun!!!  Or to even have in stationary in my back yard as a she shed that would be a fun escape.

Kevita, Master Brew Kombucha- Raspberry Lemon

I was visiting my sister and her family out in Washington and I needed my kombucha fix while I  was in town.  I went to Walmart, they have the best prices on kombucha.  One of the brands I bought was Kevita.

I enjoyed the flavor of this kombucha. I was very surprised to see that there was stevia leaf extract.  I usually can taste stevia in a drink right away.  I did not notice the stevia in the kombucha at all.  That is a good thing.

Ingredients --Sparkling Water, Kombucha Culture (Filtered Water, Black Tea Extract*, Green Tea Extract*, Natural Flavor*)*, Filtered Water, Cane Sugar*, Raspberry Juice Concentrate*, Lemon Extract*, Bacillus coagulans LactoSpore MTCC 5856, Ginger Extract*, Black Tea Extract*, Black Tea Essence*, Caffeine (Green Coffee Bean Extract)*, Green Tea Extract*, Stevia Leaf Extract*.

I enjoyed this drink with my sisters amazing breakfast hash.

From the Website,
