Global Tastes, The Chai Journey...trying Tulsi Ginger Chai Tea

I was doing another product test and thrilled this one is tea related!!!

The packaging is super clever and fun.  It looks just like a book....which is fitting since it is 'The Chai Journey'

This package comes with 4 fun chai teas.  They each focus on a different area.  It's really clever and I love it!!!

I frothed my milk for the chai.  I can't wait to try this Tulsi Chai.  I like Tusli, also known as Holy Basil.  I have tried a really good tea that was only Holy Basil and it was really good and had a bit of a peppery/herbal taste.  It reminded me of herbs from my herb 4H garden when I was in elementary school.  The flavors bring back good memories.

"Holy basil is a plant. It is originally from India but now grows in Australia, West Africa, and some Middle Eastern countries. It is used in Ayurvedic medicine as an "adaptogen" to counter life's stresses. It is considered a sacred plant by the Hindus and is often planted around Hindu shrines. The Hindu name for holy basil, Tulsi, means "the incomparable one." Medicine is made from the leaves, stems, and seeds.

Holy basil is commonly used by mouth to help with anxiety and stress. It is also used for diabetes and high cholesterol. But there is limited scientific research to support these and other uses.

In cooking, holy basil is often added to stir-fry dishes and spicy soups because of its peppery taste. Cookbooks sometimes call it "hot basil."
Chemicals in holy basil are thought to decrease pain and swelling (inflammation). Other chemicals might lower blood sugar in people with diabetes."  https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-1101/holy-basil

All varieties of Holy Basil are astringent, pungent, warm and sweet, with notes of peppermint, cloves, licorice, or lemon

This chai is really good.....it's simply black tea, holy basil, and ginger.  It's well balanced and delicious.

I frothed some milk and added it to the chai.

I then added some crystal sugar.

I was able to get two cups of tea out of the 1 teaspoon.  For my second cup of tea I added lavender to the cup, it was just as good as the first cup!!

Play with your chai's and don't be afraid to add fun flavors to your drink.

I can't wait to try the other three chai teas in the package!

Aerolatte Cappuccino Artist

I purchased this at Lehman's Hardware in Kidron, Ohio.  https://www.lehmans.com/lehmans-retail-store  But, you can get it on Amazon too.

I like Lehmans, and not just because it is my family business....I even worked there for 8-10 years...between part time and full time.  It is great place to shop.  It has been voted Ohio's #1 Amish County destination. They have a little of everything.

I got this and have tried it multiple times, but I have yet to master the art of making a design in my frothed milk.

First, I tried putting the stencil on the cup and shaking the crystals down, but that didn't work at all.

I then took off the filter and poured sugar crystals into the shaker.  But the sugar is big, that it doesn't fit through the filter.  So, I put the template on as the lid.

I tried sugar crystals, but I think I need cinnamon or something else super powder like.  With the crystals, they just fall out and do not make any kind of design.

Epic fail!!!

Oh well, the latte still tastes really good.  I will keep trying and watch some more videos and see if I can master it.

Ohio Tea Company, African Summer

We are finally getting snow!  I thought that this was going to be the winter that would never come.   But, finally we got some snow.

I love this label!  Have my decision on picking new teas to try is the labels, lol!  This one is bright and fun, just like this tea.

Honeybush, orange peel, lemon grass, rose-hips, safflowers, with orange, and lemon flavor

I got this new tea to try and sadly I love it.  I am in trouble, I keep finding Ohio Tea Company teas that I love.  This one is full of citrus flavors.  I am not a huge honeybush fan, and thankfully I don't get the honey flavor.  All I get is the wonderful citrus notes. It is light and bright.  It is a great mix of orange and lemon.  This is definitely going to be one I make as an iced tea.

This is an herbal tea, so you want your water to be over 200 degrees.  I then steep 3-5 minutes and I get 2 cups out of  1 teaspoon.

Sure House, Golden Milk Latte

Once again I am back at Sure House in Orrville using my Christmas gift cards and getting a free Golden Milk Latte with Oat Milk.

I love this latte. The turmeric in there is what makes this latte. Turmeric is really great for your joints, so I feel I am being healthy while drinking this.  I also love the oat milk in this, it adds an earthiness to the flavor that I love.

Bird & Blend Tea Co.- Earl's Paradise

This is Earl Grey, he is a great cat!!!

Bird & Blend is one of my favorite tea companies, definitely in the top 5 for me!  The worst part is that they are in England.  I only order when I can get free shipping.  Their tea is so amazing!!!  The flavors they make are incredible.

This one did not disappoint either!!  I was a bit skeptical about the papaya in the Earl Grey, but the blend as great.  The sweet notes from the papaya were perfect with the black tea and jasmine.  This was a great twist on the traditional Earl Grey.

Ceylon black tea, papaya pieces (papaya, sugar), strawberry pieces, freeze-dried strawberry, lime leaves, jasmine blossom, natural flavouring.

This is a black tea, so you want the water over 200 degrees and steep 3-5 minutes.
