Happy 48th birthday freebies

Super excited to have snow for my birthday.  It's wasn't  lot of snow, but snow is snow, but I will take it!!

My office gives me the day off for my birthday, so I decided to go out an see what free things I could find.

But, first stop was to pop into my parents house and visit with them for a bit.  Mom and I also staged this pic with our Lehman mugs.

My first free thing was breakfast at Denny's.  If you show your drivers license on your birthday, you get a free Grand Slam breakfast.

My second free thing was a drink at Dunkin Donuts.  I got the Large Matcha Latte.

Free thing number 3 was some tea at Ohio Tea Company.

Free thing #4 was a free pastry at Panera.

Free thing number 5, was anything at Starbucks.  I got an egg sandwich.

And finally, #6 was $5 free at Menchies!

At the end of the day I enjoyed a .99 face mask and some Giant Eagle sushi.

It was a great day, I am so blessed.  48 isn't going to be too bad!    I am sharing my number with Jimmie Johnson this year...here is too #8 for him!!!

Day 2 of working from home featuring Rishi, Turmeric Ginger Tea

Day 2 of the new normal, working from home.  I am featuring an herbal tea from Rishi.

Organic ginger root, organic turmeric root, organic licorice root, organic lemongrass, organic orange peel, organic lemon peel, essential orange and lemon oils

This tea is strong.  There is no hiding the fact that there is turmeric in this tea.  There is no hiding that there is ginger in this tea.  There is no hiding the fact there is citrus in this tea.  It's bold, but the flavors blend well together.

This tea is good, not great, but good.  I enjoyed the one cup, but wasn't up for another.  I like this tea in small doses.

I also like the benefits of turmeric- it helps inflammation.  I tend to have aches an pains- maybe its age related, but no matter what it is, I like that turmeric is a natural way to fight this.
Also both ginger and turmeric have hey both have very powerful nutritional value which includes: iron, calcium, magnesium and copper.

Enjoying this tea....in yet another cat mug, lol.

I finished out the work week!  I survived a new normal, working from home.  Life is constantly changing, yet I can't be thrown by it.  I rest in the fact that God has this.  He is not surprised by what is happening in the world. I find peace that God is in control.

Earl Grey seemed much more content today.  He seemed to understand that I was home and I needed to work.  He slept most of the day beside me.  He is so adorable!

It was almost 70 degrees today, so I had the windows open.  Earl Grey seemed to enjoy hanging out in the windows when he wasn't on the floor by me.

Rishi Tea from World Market in Canton

Hope you are finding joy and sharing joy!

working from home, full day #1- Ohio Tea Company, Creme Brulee

My office has sent most of us home to work.  We are practicing social distancing....

Today, 3/19/2020, was the first full day of working from home.  It was an adjustment for me and for my house mate.  Earl Grey was very distracting in the morning.

He was very curious what I was up too and why I was ignoring him.  I love this little guy!!!

Each day I want to feature a different tea.  Today is Ohio Tea Company- Creme Brulee.  It is really good.  The after notes remind me of the crunch that is on top of creme brulee.

This is a black tea, so you want to have your water over 200.  She also want to steep the tea for 3-5 minutes.

I felt like I was being watched all day.....

But, by the afternoon I think he got that I had work to do and he decided to take a nap and wait for my day to be over.

Have to keep an eye out for my house mate- with the run on TP I want to make sure he is not stealing any...and that he replaces what he uses!

We survived day 1!!  It seems like he knew when the day was over, cause he jumped up on my lap!

No idea how long working from home will last.  But, I am trusting God in all of this.  There is no reason to fear, this virus comes as no surprise to Him.  Change can be scary and over whelming, if you are fearful or scared during this time- try focusing on the good that is happening.

For me...the positives...
1.  God has given me a peace during all of this.  I can be a light and share joy.
2.  Working from home means that I can work in my Pj's
3.  Working from home means I get to see my cat all day
4. Working from home means I still have a job.
5.  Things closed- now I can spend more time reading, spring cleaning, and work outside
6. People running out of things- gives me a chance to see how I can help them...take the groceries. TP, or whatever they may need.
7. Intentional Praying for those who are sick, hurting, or fearful

What has you anxious or upset about this time...how can you turn it into a positive?

Hope you are finding joy and sharing joy!

felted mice

Who couldn't use a little cuteness right now??

I wonder if I could make these?  I am obsessed with how adorable these mice are!!!  I checked on Esty and they are like $50-$90 each!!  That is crazy expensive, but they are so cute!

I made a felted picture before, it turned out so so, but I have never attempted a figure.  But. don't be surprised if you see me post that I have tried to make one.

Look at her sweater!!!  Could she be any more adorable?

I mean how can you not be in love with this little mouse with a balloon heart.
