Vermilion Tea places

I love Vermilion.  I lived here one year in 2000.  It is such a quaint and friendly little town.

I came Memorial Day Weekend for my annual stay at Beulah Beach for their benefit auction.

Of course I had to have lunch at my favorite place in the area, Brewed Awakening!

5485 Liberty Ave, Vermilion, OH 44089

This is by far one of my favorite places to come for tea!!!  They always have fun, unique, super tasty teas.  It seems every week they have a different special one.  I just love coming here.

I had the lavender matcha on Friday with my lunch, again it was wonderful!

I then headed around the corner to another cafe I have come to like, Woodstock Cafe.
665 Main St, Vermilion, OH 44089

My all time favorite here is the Sunshine Daydream Latte Iced- I discovered it a few years ago and I am so glad it is still on the menu.  The coconut in this tea is outstanding!  If you like coconut this drink is a must!

The vibe in here is just so much fun!  I love the windows and how they divide the entrance.

This coconut chai is so incredibly good.  A hint of the spicey chai.  The sweetness and creaminess from the coconut.  The crunch of toasted coconut on top.  It hits on all the notes that I want my tea to be.

Saturday was auction day at the beach.  Raising money to help the camp is so special to me.  This is where I grew in my faith and made the decision I wanted to be in ministry.

I come up at least 2-3 times a year.  This is my happy place.

Headed home with an Iced tea from Brewed Awakening... I had a free iced tea coming from them, lol.

This town is just the cutest!

10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Miss Hickories for Mother's Day Tea

It has now become an annual tradition for my mom and I to go to Miss Hickories for a Mother's Day Tea.

14217 Mill Hollow Ln, Strongsville, OH 44136

The price went up since last Mother's Day, but it is still very reasonable.

We were the first ones there.

The rooms are very nicely decorated and there is seating for lots of people.  They even have seating outside.  Last year we loved being outside, but this year they were not set up yet.

These cute paper flower arrangements were on the tables.  There was a card that stated you could sign up to take a paper making flower class.

I made my mom a recipe book with her tea party recipes in it.  My parents have hosted garden tea parties in their backyard for around 25 years, I took her recipes and put them in a book...for her and for us girls to all have in one place.

We then enjoyed tea.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the gluten free food.  I thought it should have been plated better...at least cut the crusts off.  And better yet, make it look like the other sandwiches.  My mom had her sandwiches cut in circles- I thought it would have been more attractive to do that to mine too- especially since the tomato and cucumber inside were circles.

Also, it was not mentioned that I did not get a scone or lemon bread- but I was charged more for the gluten free bread.  Next time I will go with the regular selection and not the gluten free.  I did get some fruit on the side, but I wish it matched the other "regular" tea.

Tomato sandwich, cucumber sandwich, egg salad sandwich and chicken salad.
Some strawberries.
Then in addition the gluten free comes with cup of fresh fruit vs regular afternoon tea comes with a scone and lemon bread.

I also purchased a cup of soup...since I did not get a scone or lemon bread since they aren't gluten free.  The chicken pot pie soup was really really good!!!  The soup was my favorite thing I ate.  It was hearty and delicious.

Since they did not have a tea steeper- they just put the loose leaf tea in the teapot and it over steeps, I went with the iced tea.  It was nice.

I love this painting!!

I love the art work on the walls.

Dessert tray- we did not partake, but ohhh, they looked good.

A very fun treat with my mom and I- even if I was a little let down this year by the food.  I love this tradition.

After tea, we have come to enjoy pedicures too, lol.  We do where there is a Groupon deal.  This year we want to a Future Directions Hair Studio and Spa in Parma that has been around for over 40 years!!!  They were great.  One of the gest lasting nail polish I have ever used.  And the gal used a dremel to "sand" the bottom of my feet, it was incredible. My feet have not been this soft since I was a baby, lol.

I love spending time with my mom.
