When I was with friends in Penang we ate several times at the Long Beach Food Court in Batu. I loved the food here, especially the chicken satay!
I was so happy to discover there was milk tea here!!!
Teh Tarik - Tea with condensed milk, sweet
Teh O Panas - same tea without ice
The Panas (=hot) is optional, sometimes you will get the drinks with ice anyway so you add "panas" just to make sure.
If you want a cold drink you just add "ais" to it:

Important: every drink in Malaysia is by default very (very) sweet. I would recommend to order everything with the magic words "kurang manis" (=less sweet):
I loved the food courts here!! Every time we came here I ordered something different, except for the chicken satay, I ordered them every time.
At the food court, you go to the stand that you want, place your order and tell them your table number. You then go sit at your table and the food comes to you and then you pay. The drink people come to you. It is a nice system. And the food is amazing!!
I also discovered fried sweet potatoes- or Taro, a purple yam. They were delicious!!!!
I love these people! So much fun to travel with.
