Ohio Roasters, Chai tea, Canton Oh

4870 FRANK AVE. NW. NORTH CANTON, OHIO

GET THE CHAI!!!  It was one of the best Chai Teas I have ever had!

I was down the street at Ohio Tea, doing a book signing.  My friend came in and mentioned that I needed to try the chai here.  She was right!

There is lots of seating- inside and outside.

I ADORE these restroom signs!!!  When I have my tea shop, I am using this idea!

They have flights too, here the gals are working on a flight.

I purchased the chai on the recommendation of my friend.  I honestly just had thought this place roasted coffee and did not actually serve food and drinks.  I was VERY pleasantly surprised with all they offered.
Also, my friend was correct, they have a fantastic spicy chai!

Ohio Roasters Company gets a 5 out of 5 from me.  The staff was friendly, the cafe was clean and tidy and the drinks were great!
$5.65 is now about the average for large chai- it is more than I want to spend...but this is a great chai and I think it was 20 oz, so the size is good too.

I appreciate a spicy chai rather than a sweet one.  I will be back again.

They have a nice amount of parking and a drive thru as well.

Everything Surplus Tea finds

I never know what I might find when I go into Everything Surplus in Wooster.  It is hit or miss for tea, but sometimes I hit it big...like the other night.

I tried this Aspire green tea and I was NOT a fan. I bought just one pack, thankfully. I took it to work and people there enjoyed it, lol.

I was SUPER excited to find this Earl Grey tea by Twinings.  I love to make Earl Grey iced tea.  These were $1 a tin, I bought a 6 pack.  I tend to make at least a gallon a week of Earl Grey iced tea.

I plan on leading a trip to Europe in 2025 or 2026 and one of the places we are going is to Twinings.  We will take a tour and do a tasting! I am so very excited!!  Follow me for more information or drop me a note and I can tell you more about the trip.

Then my other fun find was this milk tea.  On this one, I did open one of the bottles to try it...knowing I would buy the entire pack, even if I did not like it.  But, I ended up liking it a lot, so I bought 4 packs.  Each pack of 12 was only $3.  I figured it was win win.

With finds like this from time to time, I keep going back!!!

I made a teapot lamp....

I purchased this coper tea pot lamp for $2 at a flea market.

I took it all apart and re-wired it myself, for $13.99.  Super easy to do- after I watched a U tube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD1neO1rmdI) .  I learned a lot about positive and negative and that the cords had a flat side and ribbed side.

When I bought the lamp they said it worked, but I wanted to be it was safe, so I just rewired it.  It was so easy and nice to have all the holes already drilled in the the teapot already.

I love the result.  I added a tall Edison bulb.

The Van Horne Grand Tea Room, Carrollton OH as well as great shops

My friend and I each had the Friday after the 4th of July off, so we decided to go on an Adventure.

NOTE- They are closed Thursdays and Sundays***
Open from 10-3 other days.

24 W Main Street Carrollton, OH 44615

This is a great almost 200 year old building, it was the former historic Western Exchange Hotel.
We talked to the owner and she said she is turning the upstairs rooms into a B&B- they hope to have that completed by the end of the year.  And around the corner there is an ice cream shop.

The tea room is very fun and eclectic, it was so fun to look around at all the memorabilia.  There were maybe 10-12 tables in the room.

One thing I truly loved was that they new how to make tea!!!!!    I am shocked when I go to a tea room and people don't know how to make tea.
The Grand Tea rom, put the tea in a tea ball and brought you a timer.  There was no loose leaf tea in the tea pot, so the tea did no over steep.  And we were able to keep track with the timer.  I loved that.  I drank my entire pot of tea with no issues.

Everything was fun and unique, right down to the napkin rings.

The price was incredible too!  I wish this place was closer.  I got all this food for $17.95!  This will be the next place I take my parents!

I got half a quiche- it was delicious!
I got to pick 3 sandwiches from the 5 that were listed.  My only draw back is that they all come on a croissant- I would have like different kinds of breads, but they were still all delicious.
I also got half a scone- it was wonderful- I bought one to go.
I had a bowl of fresh fruit and a bowl of whipped cream and two cup cakes.

It was VERY FILLING and the price was incredible!

I ordered the egg salad, chicken salad, and cucumber sandwiches.

I would highly recommend this place!  I would also suggest you make reservations ahead of time too.  We came and there was only one table free.  I was glad we called ahead.

They also had a wonderful selection of teas.

I did the Jasmine Pouchong tea.  It was really nice and smooth.  Pouchong is a lightly, semi-oxidized oolong tea.

The deserts looked good, but I just got a scone to go.

Here is the Carroll County Town Hall.  I love these old buildings.

Carrollton has a lot of fun shops.  We walked around and went in some.  Everyone was so nice.  It was a great town.
One shop asked us where we were from and when I said Orrville, he asked if I knew Justin Haslip.  I said I did!!  The man was very proud to tell me that Justin was from their town.  I later shared this with Justin and he loved that story and he said he'd have to find out who it was.

We did the Paperworks Store, right beside the Van Horne, it was so cute.  Then they also had a boutique up the street as well.

After lunch we did some antiquing...I purchased this adorable trash can that looks like a London telephone booth.  And this cute tea set from the Downtown Alley.

I also got these two teapots from the Goodwill.

I took this picture to use as an example of a 4th of July garland to make!  I purchased 5 red bandannas the other day at a Goodwill for .50 each, now I just need to get the denim.
