Starbucks, Batu Ferringhi Penang - Mango Passion Cold Foam Iced Shaken Black Tea

While in Penang I discovered a new iced tea at Starbucks.  The Starbucks was about 5 minutes from the hotel where we were staying.

This iced shaken tea was good and very refreshing.  It had a foam on the top of the tea which was fun and different.  The Mango Passion tea itself was good too. It was not like anything I have seen at the Starbucks in the states.  It was about $4 US.  Which is more than I would normally pay for any one drink, but when in Malaysia....

Starbucks has been in Malaysia 20 years.

I still think my Passion Iced Tea is my favorite Starbucks drink, but I was happy to try something new.

This Starbucks had a nice look to it.  There was lots of seating inside and then a courtyard in the back. I was way to hot to sit outside though.

BOH Cameronian Gold Blend

After a week in Penang for a mission trip I was spending a few days with a college friend and her family.  I was staying with my friends parents.  They lived on the 12th floor of a great apartment.  Their apartment looked down on Tsunami Village.  The 2004 killer Tsunami hit here.

My first morning in my friends parents place they set out some tea for me to try.  They had the local tea, BOH.  BOH, is from the Cameron Highlands, a place I had hoped to visit, but it was a 6 hour bus ride away.  Maybe next time.

This was a nice black tea.  I think I enjoyed it even more knowing that is made from near by tea.  This is closest I have been to a tea plantation.  But, it really was a nice black tea.

I bought some BOH black tea to bring home with me.  I look forward to making it and enjoying it at home.  BOH has a large variety of teas. I bought some Hibiscus, some 2 in 1 tea, I will let you know what I think.

Ready for the day!  And it may look like I just washed my hair...but it is wet from all the sweating I am doing, lol!!!

Enjoying my cup of tea on the balcony from the apartment.

Homemade Hawthrone Iced Tea

The view from where I am staying in Penang. After a week mission trip in Penang, I stayed an extra few days to see a college friend.  Penang is beautiful and the people are so friendly.  Except for the heat, I loved Malaysia!!

I learned to ride the bus....It was nice to have an AC ride to dinner.  It is so very hot in Penang, so it always nice to have AC!!

My friends and I ate at this Chinese Restaurant.

The restaurant was not some huge commercialized shop.  It seemed like a nice little mom and pop place.  That is another thing I love about Penang- all the small great restaurants!  The food was so great! And with that food, I found some fun unique teas.

I found home made Hawthorn Tea for $2 RM, which is about .50.  It was good, nothing amazing, but fun to try.
I never heard of the Hawthorn plant.  So, I did some checking....the Hawthorn plant- leaves, flowers, and berries are good for you.

The food and the tea were both very good. Be up for new and different things!  Try new and different things!

While in Penang there was a giant moon- they said it was closest to Earth.  It was the biggest super moon of 2019.
