Tea's in Wayne County Ohio

So, the insurance company that I work for started giving us this great treat in the summer.  They have given us the options of 4 ten hour work days.  This is the second summer we have been given this treat.

I try to make the most of the day off, I called my day off "Wednesday Wanderings".  During this day off I would make hair cut appointments, doctor appointments, and to try every tea place in Wayne County.

YES, you read that right.  I am from Wayne County Ohio and I wanted to visit every city, town, and village and try every tea place and find the best tea places for all of us!!

I was able to accomplish this goal and I have given you my favorites in each city, town, and village. Maybe next year I will try Stark or Holmes County.  I had so much fun traveling around and trying tea.

I discovered that most coffee places carry bagged tea and better yet, they have a signature tea drink.  Most popular signature teas are- Chai Latte- warm, cold or frozen, London Fog- warm or cold, Iced Tea, and Golden Milk Latte- warm or iced.

Squeeze & Grind, Camas. WA Iced Vanilla Chai with Caramel

My niece took me to one of her favorite spots, Squeeze & Grind.  She loves the smoothies there and thought I might enjoy a tea, and she was right.  They do carry Tazo Tea as their bagged tea, if you aren't looking for a chai or latte, but still want a tea.

I asked what kind of chai they had, she said that they had a powdered chai with a vanilla hint to it that was probably the most popular.  Or she said that there was a liquid concentrate that they do with Oregon Chai.  Since I am not a fan of the Oregon Chai I went with the powder chai and asked for a dash of caramel syrup in it.

This was a good iced chai. The flavor was nice and there was just a hint of vanilla and I liked the caramel that they added to it too.  It is a cute shop, small but cute. The staff was super friendly.  My niece enjoyed her smoothie and a bagel.

So much fun with my niece!!  She is a beautiful person inside and out.  I love that I got to spend this week with her and she gave me a lot of her free time.  Next year she will probably be off at college so I treasured the time we had this week.  Time with family and the people I love are things I cherish.  I love that she took the time to show me all these tea places!

Good Host, Canadian Iced Tea

My brother in laws favorite iced tea comes from Canada.  I have to say it is not for me, it is way to sweet.  I enjoy giving him a hard time about not knowing what is good tea.

He says your a good host if you serve this tea....the name of the tea is Good Host.

Tim seems to think that Canadian Red Rose is better than the United States Red Rose.    He is Canadian, so I guess that is why he likes their teas.  I don't think Red Rose is good from any country, lol.

Wild Tonic, Jun-Kombucha, Blueberry Basil

While visiting the PNW I wanted to try some new kombuchas, ones I would not find at home.  I discovered this one.  It sounded fun and I thought the bottle was attractive with the bees in the glass.

I wasn't familiar with Jun.  I thought it was when kombucha was made with green tea.  But, after going to Wild Tonic's website I realized I was wrong. Jun is made with honey and the scoby.  I looked on other websites and it appears I am right about Jun being made with green tea, I was just missing the honey being added.

This was a good kombucha, the blueberry flavors really came through. I was hoping for more basil, but it was still good.  I would buy this one again.

Stash Retail Store, Tigard OR, Tea Flight

Mt Hood

Sisters day... we headed to visit the Stash store, just outside of Portland.  I wanted to see the Stash store when I saw that they also sold seasonal drinks.  Plus, it is a tea shop, why would I not want to stop in here!!

Out front!!!!  So excited to go inside....

We were able to view their warehouse from inside the retail store.

The had a little discount area too.

There were shelves and shelves of tea and tea supplies.

Lots of tea...loose leaf and bagged tea.

We had fun looking at all the products!!

When you came in there were sample teas too try as well.

The Organic Sunny Dandelion Root was actually pretty good. It had a chocolate taste to it.

They was an area where they could make teas.  I was surprised to see they did tea flights.  Since we had the time, I decided to get a flight and try some of the Stash teas I was not familiar with.

There were two pages of teas that I could choose from to pick for the tea flight.

Did a flight of for teas for $17.00  Double Grey Portland Fog, Ruby Orange Ginger , Ruby Mist, and  Asian Pear Dragonwell (the three of us shared the drinks)

Sisters enjoying some fun tea together.  We have not had a girls weekend since around 1999 when my sister and her husband lived in Charlotte!  We have been together a lot since then, just not a girls weekend.

The Double Grey Portland Portland Fog was my favorite I think.  I would add milk to that tea to make it a bit better.

We all made a few purchases...

Stash has so many flavors I had no idea about!!!

How fun are these????
