Yogi

I tried these two new teas...I got them at the scratch and dent store in Kidron (I blogged about it earlier).  The bagged teas that are loose are .10 each.  I tried them and I liked them both!!!  I would recommend them, I was glad that I  found a Yogi Tea that I liked, because the one I tried first I did not like :)

MINT BROOK Peppermint and Spearmint

I tried Mint Brook Tea...it is made only 10 minutes from my house
I really liked the tea.  The tea bag is very full of mint.  I got 3 cups out of this tea, and I left the tea bag in the cup the entire time.  Great refreshing tea!!!  If you like mint you will definitely love this tea.

Here is the cafĂ©.  I have not been inside yet, but I am looking forward to checking it out.  I have sent an email asking if I can get a tour too.  I hope they say yes, I would love to check out their business.

Lots of varieties of tea...

Battle Camomile ....

Another taste test...herbal camomile vs green camomile

Made with 100% pure camomile, relax and enjoy the golden flavor and floral aroma of this naturally caffeine-free herbal tea.

Camomile herb teas has long been a European favorite, with its light clean flavor and soothing effect. One of the most widely used herbs in the world today, camomile was first discovered by the Egyptians who dedicated it to their gods for its many useful properties. The Greeks also used camomile extensively, naming it "ground apple" for the apple-like aroma of the herb. Enjoy the soothing and calming benefits of Twinings Camomile Herbal Tea.

Ingredients: Chamomile
20 bags $2.99

Green tea is known for its smooth flavor and refreshing taste. Green teas are made from leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant, the same leaves as black tea. Green teas go through a process where the leaves are heated to prevent oxidation while black teas are oxidized for additional color and flavor. Twinings' Camomile Green Tea is expertly blended with the finest chamomile. The result is a soothing and refreshing tea that brews to a light golden color.

Ingredients: Green Tea, Camomile

20 bags $2.99

I thought that the green tea was a little blahhh.  I liked the herbal camomile.  I only got one cup out of reach bag.
I would not run out and buy these, I think that camomile is not for me.

LIPTON Black Tea Bavarian Wild Berry

Sale on Lipton sachets....so I thought I would give it a shot.

Brew a cup of pure, black Lipton® Tea infused with the vibrant flavor and robust aroma of sweet, wild berries in this delicious blend that contains tea flavonoids.

Flavonoids:
80mg of flavonoids per 8 fl oz serving

This black tea was good.  It was not as strong as a loose leaf black tea, but it was still very nice.  It did have some fruity flavor, I could not really determine what fruit it was, but it was fruity.

Battle Earl Grey......

I love to try two or three teas at one time and compare them and see which one "wins".  So I pulled out two Earl Grey Teas last night.  Twinings- made in china with black tea and Bergamont.  And then I tried Harney & Sons Earl Grey Supreme.  It has four black teas from Asia and India, Silver tips, and Bergamont.

from the website:
To the connoisseur we offer Earl Grey Supreme, which uses a higher grade of teas along with the addition of Silver Tips. Most of our customers have never gone back to our regular Earl Grey once they have tasted the Supreme. If you love Bergamot and fine tea, this is the blend for you
The liquor is a lighter brown than most Earl Greys, this is because the higher proportion of large tippy teas and the silver tips.
A nice mixture of large black leaves, the brown leaves of the oolong, and silver needles of the white tea.
Lovely citrus aromas predominate, we put a higher amount of bergamot in this special tea.
The lemony flavors are perfectly balanced with the delicious tea base. In comparison to other Earl Greys, there is a nice natural sweetness from all the tippy teas.
20 sachets $9.60  The Earl Grey does not come in loose leaf form or tea bags, you can only purchase it in the sachets.

from the website:
DID YOU KNOW? This classic blend was especially made for Charles, 2nd Earl Grey, Prime Minister of England. Twinings had been making Earl Grey tea since the 1830s.
Twinings has been blending my family tea for years. Today, I am proud to continue this tradition with the tea celebrated throughout the world known as Twinings Earl Grey. Legend has it, that my ancestor, the second Earl Grey, was presented with this exquisite recipe by an envoy on his return from China.
Fine black tea expertly blended with the citrus fruit flavour of bergamot, to deliver an uplifting tea with a unique floral aroma and refreshing taste.
Ingredients:Black Tea, Bergamot Flavouring
a box of 20 tea bags is $2.99.  It is also sold in loose leaf form (which I, the tea snob, recommend)

Looking at the tea bags, I gave an immediate nod to Harney & Sons!  Love the mesh bag/sachet.

Both had real nice color after steeping for 5 minutes.  I then took my cups upstairs to read my book and taste.

AND THE HANDS DOWN WINNER WAS.......
TWININGS!  The Harney & Sons tea was way to strong, almost perfumey in taste.  The Twinings tea was nice and soft.  I could almost taste a lemon flavor (which is the Bergamont in the tea).  The flavor of the tea was not overwhelming like it was in the Harney & Sons tea.

If you are asking what Bergamont it is...according to wikipedia...
Bergamot essential oil is a cold-pressed essential oil produced by cells inside the rind of a bergamot orange fruit.
Bergamot essential oil is a major component of the original Eau de Cologne composed by Farina at the beginning of 18th-century Germany. The first record of bergamot oil as fragrance ingredient is 1714, to be found in the Farina Archive in Cologne. One hundred bergamot oranges will yield about three ounces (85 grams) of bergamot oil.[1]
In perfumery bergamot oil is used as fixative.
The term "Earl Grey" has applied to black teas that contain Bergamot essential oil as a flavouring.

Does the dream end or begin with Tea?

Psalm 37:3-7a  New International Version (NIV)
Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:

He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord
    and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

As I grew up I knew I thought I would be a missionary overseas.  I felt a calling to mission work of some sort at age eight at Beulah Beach Camp in Vermilion Ohio. I went to college and wanted to major in Missions and work overseas in a missionary school. To date moving overseas has not happened for me yet.
In Jr High or High School I started joking that I wanted to have a tea shop and sell antiques.  My mom and I would make the tea and sandwiches, and my dad would buy the antiques.   To date that has not happened yet either.
I also always dreamt of being a wife and mother since I was probably seven or eight, to date that has not happened either.
Am I mad at God that these 3 dreams have not come true?  Absolutely NOT!!!  God has blessed me with so very many things in my life. (Great family, job,  house, friends, etc.)

I remember in 1998 I heard a sermon from Howard Bowers at the Wooster C&MA Church.  I liked what he had to say so much that I made notes in my Bible.

I learned that night that I have desires and those desires are okay, they are natural.  HOWEVER, I need to be sure that my desires are His desires.  And if my desires are not His desires I need to change my desires so that they match what He has for me.  In 1998 I wrote my desires in the side of my Bible:
1. To be a wife
2. To be a mother
3. To have a business where I can use my talents
4. Work with a youth group
5. Do mission work

Right now I can say that God has taken away the desire to be a wife and mother.  I am content single. I am being used being single.  So numbers one and two are no longer desires of mine.
I am working as a Sunday School teacher and for teen girls- so I am fulfilling that desire.
I went on a mission trip in 2006, I am the missions chair at church, and I am always open to be used by God at any moment to share the gospel- so I am fulfilling that desire.
But, then there is my own business desire. I still have that desire, it has not been taken away or quenched.  If anything that desire is more active than ever in the last three years.  I am praying that God will bring a tea related business to me.  I passionately want to run my own tea shop.  I will continue to pray and go through doors until the doors are shut or God takes away the desire.
I learned in my 41 years on this earth, that God's way is the only way for me. Why would I want something in my life that God says I don't need, or He does not believe is good for me.  God loves me, He created me, and He knows what is best for me.  If He takes away the desire to have a tea business, like He took away the desire to be a wife and mom, then I will continue to praise and bless His name and see what He has in store for me next!

Remember to pray believing.    Pray for your desires to match His desires....and if they don't match- get new desires :)

Try it before you by it

Did you know that some tea companies will let you try sample teas?  It is true.  Here are three samples I received in the mail in the past month.  It is so very nice to try a tea to see if you like it before you buy a box. I would also recommend buying a sampler pack if the manufacture offers it too.  When you buy a sampler pack you get to try so many different flavors that a company offers.
