Dandelion Tea

This is the year I try to make as many tree, bush, and flower teas as I can.

I started with the Magnolia Tree, then I tried the Cherry Blossoms, then the violets, and now Dandelions!

Dandelion Tea Recipe
1 C fresh dandelions
2 C water
1/4 C honey
zest of lemon or orange
cinnamon stick
1 clove
1 star anise

simmer 25 minutes
cool to around 100 degrees and add honey
cover and let sit for a few hours or overnight
strain and chill for 24 hours.
last 2 weeks

I did not have any oranges or lemons, but I did have Orange Peel- so I tossed that in.

Getting ready to simmer on the stove.

Letting cool overnight.

The next day, I strained it and put in the fridge for 24 hours.

Trying this tea, it was okay.  I definitely am getting the spices.  I think next time I would add more dandelions and less of the spices and even less honey (or maybe no honey). I am not getting much of any dandelion flavor.

Another fun one to try, although this one had all the extras added to it, so it was not fair to compare it to the other straight up flowers.

What flower are you going to try??

10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
