I was super excited to visit my friends coffee shop. Especially when I learned that their signature tea blend had arrived. The store has not even been open a full year yet and you can see that they are growing and expanding. I love seeing how this venture has worked out for them. What a blessing.
The coffee and tea (hibiscus and
lemongrass) currently come from origins all over the world. Goldberry
plans to source much of its coffee and tea components from the Sierra
Norte de Puebla region of Mexico in the near future. Goldberry works with the farmers there and their sister company, Coffee Growing Community. At least 10% of Goldberry's profits goes back to helping the Coffee Growing Community. This money helps provide spiritual. economical and social development in the Sierra Norte de Puebla communities.
I was super excited to visit my friends coffee shop. Especially when I learned that their signature tea blend had arrived. They work with a company, Loosen Up, who has helped blend this tea for them.
They have additional seating in the room next door. The area is bright and spacious.
Pete, Doug, Amy, and I
This is my friend, Doug. He and his son run this family business.
We were able to see how the roaster worked. It was amazing to see how the coffee process comes together. They have an incredible thing going here. And even though I don't drink coffee I love the aroma....and the aroma here was incredible.
Amy and I purchased some of the new tea. We found it delicious! You get the bright, tart notes from the hibiscus. You get the sweeter notes from the lemon grass. Then there is a bit of citrus that comes in from the orange and lime too. These all blend well with lightly sour notes of the rose hips and the sweet lightly spicy notes of the cinnamon. I was a big fan of this tea.
When served you get a cup and a tea pot of tea. The tea pot has a tea steeper that pulls out. After 3-5 minutes you can pull the tea out. The longer it steeps the darker and richer it becomes from the hibiscus.
You can purchase their tea at the cafe.
