PMD Earl Grey Iced Tea

I cut some lavender from my garden to use in tea.  It smells so wonderful!  I can not wait to add it to some of my teas.

One of the ways I decided to use it, was to pair it with PMD Earl Grey tea.  And make iced tea.  I just had Iced Earl Grey for the first time about a month ago and I loved it.

From the PMD website, "The most aristocratic of teas are infused with the unmistakable aroma of bergamot. To balance the citrus you need a bold tea.

Our Earl Grey is grown in the southern plains of Sri Lanka, where the soil conditions and humid temperatures make the perfect teas for Earl Grey. This is where we handpick the tea and infused the leaf with a drop of natural bergamot oil, to create the unmistakable aromatic flavour of Planters Earl Grey."

The my sister taught me to take iced tea has become my favorite way to make iced tea.  I put my 1/4 C sugar in the pitcher, add the tea, then fill it with the hot water about 1/4 of the way to 1/2 way up the pitcher.  If it is a black tea I let it steep for 10-15 minutes.  Then I fill the rest of the pitcher up with water and put in the fridge.   If it is an herbal tea- to be honest I just leave the bag in the entire time.  I throw out the bag of tea when the pitcher is empty.

There is no real tea in herbal tea, so you don't have the tannins and it doesn't get bitter like tea does if you steep it for too long.

I took a pitcher, added 1/4 C sugar, 6 teaspoons of tea (into an empty tea bag), some lavender and hot water.

I let steep about 10 minutes and then pulled out the tea bag and stir.  Added water to fill the rest of the pitcher and put in the fridge.

This iced tea is go good!!  I can't believe how much I am enjoying Iced Earl Grey tea!!  This gets 5 teacups from me.  This is a great Earl Grey- not too much bergamot oil.  The flavors are really nice together.  I am a fan!!!
