Twisted Whisk Cafe, Bluffton, Iced Chai

I loaded up the car and headed out to meet my cousin for a few days visiting the Ark Encounter in KY.  

I planned my route based on the tea shops I would visit along the route!!!  It is true, I checked Google Maps to see what tea places I may pass along the way.  The second one I came to that looked like I needed to visit was The Twisted Whisk Cafe in Bluffton Ohio.

This place was so adorable!!  I loved the outside and the inside!!!  It was quaint and charming.

They did not have a lot of tea options, but I get that they are mainly a coffee shop.  But, they did have a nice selection of other drinks.

I thought this was clever art work that I am surprised I had not seen other places before.  Makes me wonder if I could so something like this with tea leaves....

I ordered and ice chai.

I thought the chai was very good and I gave it 4 tea cups. The chai was on the sweeter side.

  The staff was friendly, the cafe was clean and very well maintained.  Sadly, I can't remember the price of the chai, so I can't comment on the price.

Kezia's Coffee, The Ark Encounter. Dirty Chai

My cousin and I have been talking about visiting the Ark in Kentucky.  I am so glad we made it work!!

I drove about 2 hours and met them in Ohio, then we car pulled the rest of the way to KY.  

The first day we spent at the Airbnb in Lexington, which is about 45 minutes from the Ark.  It was a nice area to stay in.  Then Thursday we went to the Ark.

We showed up right when it opened and I have to say it was fantastic.  It was not crowed at all and I felt I could look at all the exhibits I wanted without being rushed.

We spent 3-4 hours there and I felt I got to see everything I wanted to see and do what I wanted.  But, I could see how people spend way more time than that there.

I was so impressed with everything about the Ark.  Just incredible that God had Noah build a boat that big back then...I mean it took 100 years, but still.  It was incredible, but it brought everything about the Ark more to life.

While there I visited the Kezia Cafe and purchased a dirty chai.

I give the dirty chai 5 tea cups.  The tea was good, the espresso did not over whelm the chai.  The flavors mixed well.  The staff was super friendly, the place was clean, and the price was decent.  

The ark and the exhibits were incredible.  I was so impressed how well everything was done.  I know that they don't know exactly how things were done, but this gives you an idea and it brings it all to life in such a real way.

Noah appears in the Bible in Genesis 5:29.  Then you can read about Noah and the ark starting in Genesis 6:11-9:28

I was a fan of the giraffe family that were throughout the park.

There is also a petting zoo and animal section.  I had hoped to ride a camel but the lines were too long.

My only souvenir was this mug...which I got free.

For Christmas I got my dad this subscription to the Ark/Answers in Genesis magazine...and the color changing mug was free.  I  am hoping that after my dad reads the magazine he will share it with me.  I read the one there at the Ark and it had all kinds of interesting facts and articles.

Holmes County - Red Mug, Rebecca's Bistro, Chrysalis cafe, and The Corner Cup

I hit 4 tea places in one day!!  I love my Wednesdays off!!!  I have so much fun traveling around and finding tea places to visit.  Today I was meeting friends, so I had a purpose and a mission.

There are so many great tea places popping up in Holmes County.  Most obliviously focus on coffee, but have some nice teas as well.

1.

First in Mt Hope, ordered my Lumberjack Latte

It is chestnut tea, maple syrup, and milk.

I am a fan of Red Mug.  They are also the only ones I have ever found that serves a lumberjack latte.  I like it.  I actually found a chestnut tea at Ohio Tea and sometimes make it at home.

Then I headed to Walnut Creek to meet some friends at Rebecca's Bistro.

 I love love love Rebecca's.  And I have met her and she is just so sweet and kind.  My Mansfield friends were in town and asked to meet.  I was immediately in for meeting in Walnut Creek.  We had a great lunch there and I had an ice tea which was very good.

Next, we popped down the street to Chrysalis Cafe.  It was my first time here.

This a sister cafe to Fig and Honey in Charm Ohio.  Fig and Honey has a bigger kitchen, so they do a lot more food at that location- or so I have been told.

We all ordered Iced Matcha Teas here.  They have lots of options for tea, which is nice.  They were super friendly and helpful.  I will have to visit again.

Then on the way home I stopped in Winesburg at The Corner Cup

This was my first time at The Corner Cup.  They have a nice cafe area and then a deli section and shopping area.  It is very nice and clean. The staff was helpful as well.

They have a nice selection of teas too.  I went for the Matcha, to compare with the one I had a little earlier.  It was just as good.  I don't think I could even rank them in order, they were both very good!

Lastly in Kidron I stopped at my favorite Salvage store.  

This is a great scratch and dent store near Kidron.  You never know what you will find here.  I have gotten some fun tea, some fun juices, snacks, and cookies for my teas.

Beca House, Upper Sandusky- Chai Latte

They did not have a lot of tea options, but that is okay, they did have a bunch of drinks that if I enjoyed coffee looked great and some fun looking lemonades.  They also carry Harney and Son tea, which I am a huge fan of!

The cafe was super clean and the staff was really friendly.

I give the chai 4 tea cups.  I thought it was a nice chai.  It was more on the sweet side and I tend to like it spicy, but it was still nice. The price was good too, a large chai was under $5.  I recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

Beca House is right off  Rt 30.

It is a cute little shop that also has a drive thru.  I am glad I stopped.
