But Cup, Jasmine Tea

 I am a big fan of the Asian Plaza in Cleveland.

I went to the pharmacy and found some fun tea items.  The one that caught my eye was the But Cup.

 

I bought pack of But Cups. How could I pass on tea that comes in a container called, But Cup, lol!

I also bought this Peach Gum. It is called, Tao Jiao- a resin or sap from the peach and Chinese wild peach trees.  I am not sure much about it yet, but I plan on reading up on it.  I am hoping maybe to use it as a sweetener.

They have all kinds of items in the pharmacy. 

So...the But Cup.

It is a jasmine flavored tea.

The tea is at the bottom of the tea, all you do is add water.

It doesn't say, but I believe this is a white tea.

Here you can see the tea at the bottom of the cup.  The tea is sealed at the bottom of the cup with what is like a tea bag.

I discovered though that like all tea, you can't let the tea over steep.  I ended up pouring it into another cup so that I could drink it.

The tea flavor was okay.  But having to pour the tea into another cup to drink, kind of defeats the purpose of having the tea in the cup.  My thought is if the tea bag floated to the top or came out would make it a lot nicer.  The tea wasn't cheap, but I do understand you get the tea and the cup together.

Another Kurdish Tea Class with friends

My friend asked me to do a Kurdish tea and talk about my latest vacation to Iraq.

Monica had some of my vacation photos blown up and around the room. 

It was a fun surprise to see these photos around the room.

On the table I had my Shutterfly book that I made of the trip.  I also had treats, several kinds of sugar, and the pates I purchased at the secondhand store with dates.

I had pistachio treats, rock sugar, boiled sugar, and white sugar for everyone to try with their tea.

I had different things to add to the tea for the various rounds of tea we did.  I had roses to add, cinnamon to add, saffron, as well as more cardamon, and perfume.

I served the cardamon tea I brought back from Erbil, Iraq.

Tea steeping, glasses set, and I am ready to share.

My amazing friend Monica worked all day and then came home and had tea food ready for everyone!!!

She had chicken salad sandwiches, fruit cups, scones, and more.

What a great group to share with....

This is my sweet friend, Monica.  It was wonderful for her to invite me over.  I love sharing about my trip and the great people I met, the food I ate, and the tea I drank.

This sweet lady, who I had NEVER met before, said she had a gift for me. Her aunt had purchased this dress in Jerusalem over 50 years ago. She thought I would enjoy it.  To say I would enjoy it is an understatement.  I love this sort of thing.  Especially since I want to do teas from other countries, and I have a tea from Jerusalem already- Bedouin tea.

My sweet and dear friends.  We've been close friends since Jr high. 

Monica gave everyone who came these great gifts- tea cups filled with sweet treats.

Monica's mom, Gloria, gave me this beautiful teapot and teacup duo as a thank you too.

It was a very fun night to share with these friends- new and old.

Tea Cups Applique, pattern from Bustle & Sew, and fabric from Liberty of London

My friend made this beautiful applique print for me.

She found the pattern online, from Bustle & Sew, a woman she follows online.  She got the chintz print material from London and the background material is from Eastern Europe. 

I love the beautiful fabric.

My friend says that this fabric is really great material, it is Liberty of London - it is pricey and so beloved that the place she bought it from makes dresses with the fabric and then sells the scraps!  That is what my friend bought the scraps.

Such a pretty and delicate picture.  And I love that she got Chintz material knowing how much I love Chintz.
