Orange Pekoe and Chai my new tea kittens

Below is Pekoe and his half sister...she almost looks like a rag doll cat.

I was so sad and shocked when my Earl Grey passed away.  I had to put her sleep, she had a grapefruit size tumor.  But, God in His graciousness gave me an inexplainable peace.  I was sad, but not devastated.  And within a day or two I was ready to look again.

A friend told me about some $5 barn kittens.
I said I would not do kittens.
I did not want kittens/cats with fleas, lice, mites, etc
I wanted fixed cats
I wanted declawed cats
I got nothing I wanted!!  HAHAHAHAHAHA

I saw them and said I will take them, both of them.
I have a brother and sister.
Orange Pekoe is super loving and loves to fall asleep on me.  He is the boy.
The girl is Chai and she is super shy.

First thing getting home, they got a flea treatment.  I only saw one live flea on them, but where there was one, I thought there could be more.

They stayed in the laundry room the first night until I could be sure they were litter trained.  The got the liter box thing quickly!!!

This was night one...I was nervous they might not get the litter box thing when they were laying in it, lol!!

Sunday, they got shampooed and brushed and moved into the downstairs of the house.

They love being together and play well, so far.

They are learning what to scratch and what not too...that is going better than I hoped.

Chai is sticking her tongue out at me!
They do seem to eat and drink and even use the litter box together.

They climb and lay on the landing banister, which I don't mind...as long as they don't roll each other off.  They have done an incredible job of never jumping up on the counter, the table, or climbing one of my 6 pencil trees.

I took them to the vet and Friday and they are healthy.  So, now they have been given free run of the house...all the floors.

They like to hang out while I get ready in the morning and we chat about our days.

They are now sleeping in my bed too!  I am so happy to have 2 adorable, healthy kittens.

Orange Pekoe attended his first tea, just a week after I got him.  He came in all on his own and met the ladies.  This thrills me to know I still have a tea cat.  Chai is super shy and I am not sure she will ever join a tea party, but I love her anyway!!!

They have an Instagram page...Orange Pekoe and Chai

Feel free to follow them on their adventures.

CYO Tea Winner- my own unique blend

Kerrie's Cup of Tea won a drawing!!!

I was able to create my own blend!!  I love this idea.
I went with the Tieguanyin oolong tea

From the website:

"Works great with all of the flowers, even chamomile. For spices, we recommend turmeric; for herbs, try juniper and lemon balm; for fruits, we recommend mango and peach.

This tea has almost no ceiling on how much it can cost, with some Tieguanyins selling for up to $3000 per kilogram. Mirroring the trending Tienguanyins of today, our tea's oxidation and flavor are much closer to green tea than black tea. This tea is perhaps the best introduction to Oolongs we sell.
  • Origin: Fujian Province, China

  • Year: 2020

  • Type/Cultivar: Camellia sinensis var. sinensis / Guanyin

  • Caffeine Level: Low"

Then I was able to choose my flavors.
It is not recommended, but I decided lemon balm and lavender.

I can't wait to see how it turns out....

I received my package today, I can't wait to try it.

The tea comes packaged really nicely.  And I love the back- it tells you where your tea comes from and how to brew it.

Although, I have to say since it was an Oolong I did not let my water come to a boil.  I also did 1 tbs per 8oz of tea, not 4 tbs.  But, I did steep for 3 minutes.

It smells amazing!!  The lavender smells really florally, but I have to say I love it.

I also love the rolled oolong... and then when it is in the water it unfurls.  It is called the agony of the leaves.

I think this is a great tea, my only issue is the lavender overpowers the lemon.  I wish maybe it was a little less lavender and a little more lemon.
But, I think it is a beautiful tea.  The flavors are strong and blend well together.  I am a fan.

Home for the Holidays, Anytime Fitness

I was excited to be asked to do tea for the Home for the Holidays event in Orrville.  Home for the Holiday is the day after Thanksgiving and it starts at 5pm and the town comes out to explore down town businesses.

The last two years they have had ice sculptures which have been a fun addition as well as a scavenger hunt.  Some businesses give out food or drinks, some have face painting or carolers.  There are reindeer and Santa makes an appearance.  It is just a really fun night.

As it turns out, things changed and I did tea at Anytime Fitness in the afternoon...not in the evening.  But, that is okay- I still got paid, lol.

Anytime Fitness was running a special you could come work out for free and get some free tea.
What a deal!!

Noelle was great to work with.  She was helpful and I so appreciated her reaching out and asking me to come, even though we had never met before.

Anytime Fitness in Orrville on High Street.

Lots of nice equipment.

I am ready!!!

I was serving Spiced Chai, Vanilla Chai, and my Butterfly Pea Tea (Purple Palmer)

Sadly I only had three people show up...one was a high school friend and one was my mom :)
Only person person came to work out...I hope it was because it was Black Friday and people were shopping.

The personal trainer came out and talked to me.  He enjoyed the tea.  First time he had chai tea...he had 3 cups of the spice chai.  So, I guess it was good, lol!!

Glad I brought a book.

Anyway, another way to get my name out there.
Anytime Fitness seems to be a great place, I hope people in Orrville give it a shot.

Let me know if you want me to come to your business or gathering.  I can set up a table and have hot and iced drinks.
