Malaga Spain tea houses to visit....

Checking out the tea rooms in Malaga Spain when I visit this year....

The purpose of my trip to Spain is to give back to the missionaries who serve with the Christian and Missionary Alliance abroad.  http://www.cmalliance.org/  The really neat "God Thing" is that the missionaries that we will be serving are missionaries from Africa.  In 2006 I went to Africa on a mission trip.  2006, was my first missions trip over seas.  Now I get to go back and give to those same missionaries I worked with seven years ago.  I am so very excited that I know about 10 families that will be in Spain and that have been praying for many more of them I will finally meet in person.  While the missionaries go to their forum, myself and others will be watching and caring for their children.  I would not call this your typical missions trip.  I am not building houses or evangelizing to the lost.  But, I do hope to encourage and lift up the families that have been called to serve over seas.  And who knows I can minister to those in the hotel and ones I run into in the streets of Malaga.

While I have time off I will be exploring the area and hope to visit some tea houses!!!!!

ALSO I WANT TO SEE...

El Harén Tea Room

El Harén is found near Martyrs Square in Malaga.

Calle Andres Pérez, 3, Malaga
Located in a narrow street near Martyrs Square is the Moroccan Tea Room El Harén, which aims to cater for you every need. At this venue you can sample all sorts of teas, fresh fruit juice, milkshakes and pastries.

from a blog...
have been several times in this hidden tearoom is a small jewel in the center of Malaga. Its entry into a narrow, dark street does not make us think the roomy inside. This tearoom is typical Andalusian, (not to confuse with Moroccan) low chairs, several floors and a courtyard in the center where the aroma of cardamom and cinnamon flood everything. Its menu of teas and smoothies is overwhelming but the variety of food is rather scarce. It focuses mainly on a few Arab homemade cakes and pastries. Not a place to make a good snack, but if to drink a delicious tea warm in these winter evenings.

another says...
This is the first tea room that I visited and I fell in love ... It's a mystical place inside a house in Andalusian style. They have delicious cakes, but also shakes. Every weekday organize different activities and what makes it a different and special. ...

TAZO Earl Grey

http://www.maumeebaystateparklodge.com/  My office took me, my co-workers and our families to Maumee Bay for the weekend.  For Sunday Brunch, I had this flavored tea at Water’s Edge restaurant .   The tea was good, I had two cups.  thankfully they only charged me $2.50 once...and not one per cup. The water was not served properly though. The first pitcher of water was barely luke warm, so I had to ask for hot water.  I was a little disappointed the tea time was not taken more seriously!

This confirms that when we did the Earl Grey Taste Test with my family and I liked Earl Grey Tazo the best.

http://www.maumeebaystateparklodge.com/  My office took me, my co-workers and our families to Maumee Bay for the weekend.  For breakfast on Saturday, I had this really boring tea.  Really, this tea was served in the beautiful lodge???  It was really boring!  It was not a bad tea, but just a boring back tea.  This black tea was served at Water’s Edge Restaurant .  This tea, boring tea was $2.50...really $2.50????

Looking on line I think that HOUSE RECIPE is a trademark by Sysco Corporation

Peppermint is sometimes regarded as 'the world's oldest medicine', with archaeological evidence placing its use at least as far back as ten thousand years ago. Studies have shown that Spearmint is known to be soothing to the stomach and digestive system. It is also high in Vitamins A and C.

Taste Test Chamomile

Chamomile Tea is a popular herbal tea widely thought to have a calming and relaxing effect. Chamomile, sometimes spelled camomile, is a family of related plants; most of the chamomile used in tea is the species Matricaria recutita. In addition to being consumed as a tea on its own, chamomile is a common ingredient in herbal tea blends. It is used both as a beverage and as an herbal medicine. These plants belong to the Asteraceae family. The flower heads are the primary plant parts used in herbal medicine.

Normally I am not a fan of Chamomile tea, but I had four different kids, so I thought it was a good tasting for the kids :)  See what we all thought of the taste testing....

what did the family think?  It was pretty split.
Novus- 3 number 1's (Christy, Ryan, & Josh)
Tazo- 0
Yogi- 2 number 1's (Mom & Katie)
Bigelow- 1 number 1's (ME)
My favorite was the Bigelow tea, then Novus (which is owned by Bigelow), then Tazo, and then Yogi.  I thought that the Yogi was really bad. It had a long licorice taste.  Interestingly enough the Yogi was my mom and nieces favorite tea!    This is a quote from my nephew Josh, "The Yogi one taste like sunscreen!". It just shows that everyone has different taste buds!!!
