sandwiches, and our choice of soup, then a plate of desserts. So yummy!! fruit,

choice of soup and 8 finger sandwiches, 1 scone and 3 other desserts.

I went with Harney and Sons- Bangkok tea

We then went to a lilac farm...it was gorgeous!!

2012 and 2013 Tea Chai Té Portland (Sellwood), OR

visiting my sister in Washington, we went to Sellwood, OR.  It is part of Portland. OR.  In 2012 I discovered Lavender Bubble tea with milk.  It was INCREDIBLE.  In 2013 I asked to go back and have the drink again....unfortunately they were out of the lavender.  But, I still had a great time there!

Old caboose turned into a really cool tea house- over 120 kinds of tea!

Trouble deciding your hot tea choice by name only....here you can smell each sample! Very clever idea

2003ish Rebecca's Tea Room

Rebecca's Tea Room, now called Rebecca's Bistro in Walnut Creek, Ohio is a rare find in Amish Country.  When everyone else is selling "home style cooking", Rebecca has a unique treat of soups, salads, and fun tea.  I have not been to the Bistro- but loved when it was a Tea Room!  Full of rustic charm, I had fun with my family there.

2011 Meadow Lark Tea House

What a fun treat in Vancouver!!  If I weren't always looking to try new places, I would be sure to come back here!!!

in 1976 I was able to expand to having tea parties with my older sister and our dolls

2006 Tea in the bush of Mali, Africa

While on a mission trip in Mali, Africa we enjoyed Arabic tea with the nationals there.  Each cup of tea represents something.  We each drank three times....all from the same cup.  Putting aside that we all drank from the same cup, it was a rare treat!
cup one- bitter as life
cup two- bitter as death
cup three- sweet as life

We visited this mans village and he made tea for us.  Off to the side I could see him mixing the tea and testing it before he served it to us.  He wanted to be sure it was perfect for his guests.

As someone who is all about cleanliness, the concept of drinking tea three times out of the same cup as eight other people was not high on my list to do.  But, I got through it just fine.  It was more about being humble and gracious then about the germs.  It was about this man giving to us from what he had and being a blessing and encouragement to us.
I was not the only one who was not sure about this process!!!
But look, I embraced it and made a memory out of the experience. And who knew seven years later I would blog about it!

2012 Tea in Munich Germany

While in German "babysitting" my 8 year old cousin for a week, I was able to tour around and have some fun.  I found some great places for tea!!!

I walked to this place, I was so excited about my tea that I forgot to tip.  I walked back the next day and gave my tip and my apologies to the waiter:   This place was maybe a 20-25 minute walk from my cousins apartment.

Walked to this place:

I even found my favorite bubble tea!

NEXT STOP- this shop is almost right around the corner from my cousins apartment:

buy as little or as much as you want. Pei-Jen Müller-Lierheim is the owner from Taiwan. I found her delightful.

The store only takes cash. I was able to buy a few of these cute coin purses to bring back as souvenirs.

I got two really nice loose leaf teas here.  Not sure what they are, but I told Pei-Jen I liked citrus teas

NEXT STOP, I am not sure how I found this place, I am not sure I could ever find it again. I was walking to the center of Munich when I "stumbled" upon it:

maybe a small shop, but it is jam packed full of wonderful teas.

wonderful Chai tea
