Zillah Washington Teapot and Chester West Virginia Teapot

The world’s oldest gas pump is still going strong, and can be found in Zillah, in Washington State. It’s known as the Teapot Dome Service Station, as it happens to look like a teapot

I checked and too bad this is almost 3 hours from my sisters house in Washington....hardly worth the long drive just for the photo shoot!!!  This is way cool.

Referencing the controversy surrounding Warren G. Harding's presidency, the Teapot Dome Gas Station has reached mythic status. Its original home was on Highway 410, but it moved 56 years later during the construction of Interstate 82 in 1978. Now, the teapot sits empty just outside of Zillah. In 2007 it was put on The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation's Most Endangered Historic Properties list, while The Friends of the Teapot Association attempted to refurb it until the move and restoration price tag was revealed: $250,000.

THEN CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!  This one is only an hour and 30 minutes from me (77.9 miles)!!!!  That makes a photo shoot a little more reasonable

Chester's giant teapot is self-proclaimed the largest in the world. The structure is 14 feet in diameter and approximately 14 feet tall. It was built in 1938 by converting an oversized root beer keg, once used as an ad for a Hire's Root Beer promotion. William Devon bought the barrel and made it into a teapot by covering it with tin and placing a large glass ball on top for the knob of the lid. A concession and souvenir stand were set up inside the teapot next to Devon's pottery outlet store. While the souvenirs have moved to the gas station across the street, the teapot was restored in the 1990s, making it a prime road trip stop.
