Strawberry Matcha with coconut milk

My niece is in town visiting...and I love it!!!!!!

She asked me to make her something matcha and fruity.

Making matcha is super easy.  And if you want to add fruit it is still easy and makes it a little more refreshing and healthy too.

I bought some strawberries and mashed them up and put them on the bottom of the glass and added some ice.

I then took Silk coconut milk and frothed it. I poured the coconut over the strawberries and ice.

I made matcha with some hot water and then poured it on top of the Silk coconut milk.

When I make iced matcha, I take less than a teaspoon of matcha and add just enough hot water to cover the matcha and I blend it up.    With this I added about a 1/2 C of water to the matcha. You could even just add the water to dissolve the matcha and then add more coconut milk- but it does dilute the color of the matcha and I love the bright vibrant green color.

I did not add any sugar or honey, but you could if you like it sweeter.

Before stirring and after stirring...

My niece thought it was good, but still pretty matcha forward.  So,  I added some honey to coconut milk and frothed those together.  She did say liked that better.

For those who aren't huge fans of matcha or are just starting out- I might recommend adding something a little sweet to froth in with the milk.  And each time you can add a little less.  I like mine with no honey or sugar, but I know that might take some getting used too.
