I love the Asia Plaza in Cleveland Ohio. I have been here about 6-7 times in the past 5 years. It is so much fun. The plaza has a great restaurant- Li Wah- they have fantastic dim sum. There is also a pharmacy that has some unique teas. There a couple gift shops, as well as Ball Ball Waffle- it has milk tea and egg custards. Then I just discovered the grocery store!!! When I first went to the plaza, we did not go in the grocery store because it was Covid and we would have to wear masks... so we avoided the grocery store.
I love tea. I have created this page to discuss all things tea. Camellia Sinensis -Black, Oolong (Wulong), Green (Matcha, Sencha, Gun Powder, Genmaicha, Gyokuro), White, Yellow, Purple, Pu-erh, Chai, Blooming, and Kombucha. Also, Mate, Rooibos, Honeybush, Herbal, and Tisane Teas. Loose leaf/bagged/powered/instant. Iced/hot tea. Tea infusers/strainers, tea kettles, tea timers, tea pots/cups, steeping times, tea goodies, tea houses, and more! Do you share my passion of tea?
Egg Tarts and shopping at the Asia Plaza in Cleveland Ohio
I decided to see this time what was in the grocery store... hoping to find egg tarts. It was a beautiful fall day, so I decided to drive the hour up to the plaza.
How could I not pick up But Cups???? It was jasmine flavored tea...I will post a blog about this product. Be on the look out.
Not sure what this is, but I bought some to try.
Ball Ball Waffle
I like to pop in for the Hong Kong Milk tea.
Then I wondered over to the grocery store...
There were all kinds of fun treats in the grocery store.
I was thrilled to find egg tarts. I was shocked to find the tarts and I could get 12 of them for $4.95! What an incredible price! They were was no markings on them or even on the sticker to confirm they were egg tarts.
I asked a lady beside me if they were egg tarts. She did not speak English but got out her phone and with google translate she wrote egg tarts. I could have hugged her. I was so happy she confirmed for me that they were what I was looking for. And at that price I bought 3 bags of them.
When I got home, I quickly tried them out with some tea. They were fantastic.
I am not sure when I first had these. Maybe in Malaysia?? I also had them at Ball Ball Waffle and in New York with my friend Kristie. I was so excited to share with her the tarts, she loved them as much as I did.
At my family Thanksgiving, I was to bring one of the desserts. I brought a tray of goodies... and one of the items was the egg tarts! Oh, so delicious!! When I made these, I sprinkled a little cinnamon sugar on top. I liked the sweetness that it brought.
I took my friend Kristie some tarts for Thanksgiving. I took a plate of them to her... she was so funny; she didn't even share with her family. lol!!
Before I got the above blog posted, I went to the Asia Plaza again, so I thought I would combine the posts...

My friend, Barb and I came for Dim Sum at Li Wah. She had never been, it was fun to introduce her to dim sum. I love picking my food from the cart.
I love watching the carts come up and down aisle and seeing what is in the steamers.
We got scallion pancakes, shrimp dumplings, sesame balls, pork and shrimp dumplings, steamed pork buns, and egg custards (egg tarts).
They served a really good tea. I think it was green. Normally at a Chinese restaurant you will get green or oolong. It was not listed on the menu. They bring it out with the water. It was a very nice tea.
Look at the wonderful food we got! Dim Sum is meant to be shared.
There is also a menu on the table, so if you are not sure what to order or if what you want is not on the cart, you can ask the server for it. It has photos, so that is VERY helpful!
From Li Wah we could walk to the other shops and the grocery store. It is all under one roof.
I was excited to pick up more egg tarts for my friend Kristie and myself.
The prices on fun unique teas were really good. I was familiar with some of the teas and the prices here are less than half what they are online.
The tea I am most excited to try is the 3:15 Earl Grey. I will let you know what I think of it.
I found two incredibly interesting Lays chips flavors that I will be giving my nephews for Christmas. One will be getting "Bean Meat Flavor" and one will be getting "Wasabi Octopus Flavor".
I don't think they will be real impressed. but for $2.29 I could not resist buying them.
I did not buy a lot. But I did buy some tea, egg tarts, they also had home good area and I got a really nice tea pot for $5.99 and cups to match for $1.39 each. I need to check but I think it is a 5 cup tea pot, which is great for my tea parties.
This grape oolong was incredible. I will be buying this again for sure!
Some items...that we DID NOT PURCHASE...
We joked about coming here for our international food court dinner at church.
We had a great time with our google translate app. Some items did not translate well. I believe things were lost in translation.
Less than 10 minutes away from the Asia Plaza is the Christmas Story House. I am not really a fan of the movie...but I do enjoy a fun photo shoot at an iconic place.
Get out an explore what is near you. Find out what is out there. Adventures don't have to cost a lot, but it can be a lot of fun. I love finding new things.
