Mayflower Teahouse, Canton Ohio

Today I discovered Mayflower Tearoom in Canton Ohio.

You know in the movie, Notting Hill, they talk about the house with the "Blue Door", well, this is the tea shop with the green door.  And that is what I thought if the minute I saw the shop.  The fun, bright green door.

What a great discovery- this place has not even open for a year yet.  I hope it takes off and thrives!!

When I pulled up I wasn't sure I was at the right place.  There was no one around and it seemed deserted.  Then I noticed the sign that said they were open.

Every table has Lego flowers on them, it is really fun!

I love the purity of their tea. They have no sugar, no syrups- just pure tea! (They do have honey though)
There are not a lot of tea options but the teas I tried were really good and the prices are fantastic!

I ordered Caravan Russian tea for $4.00.  I thought I would get a cup, but they gave me an entire pot of tea for $4.00.  I thought it was really good.  It had the smokey flavor I associate with Caravan tea.

Caravan tea is smokey (the added Lapsang Tea) to replicate the smokiness of when the camel caravans would bring tea from China to Russia in the 16 and 1700's.  The tea in the wooden crates were exposed the the smoke from the evening campfires, so when the tea arrived in Russia it had a smoky taste to it.

I sat at the little Japanese seating area. It was really fun.

I enjoyed sitting and working on my England trip itinerary.

I also ordered a matcha and took it to go. The matcha was really good too.  They know how to make tea here!

You can play chess.  This is chess board is on the wall and you can make a move and then wait for the another random person to make a move.

The outside may not look like a lot yet- but there is a great patio in the back and the interior is cute.  And since I have been there they have gotten a sign for the exterior of the building, which will help people find it as well.

Check this place out. I think you can bring food in too- but check.  Grab some friends and try some great tea.

10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
