Stop 3 of 7 in NYC was Harney & Sons!
YAY!! They are definitely in the top 5 of my favorite tea companies.
I led a bus trip of 56 people to NYC this fall. This is my second leading of this bus trip. It is so much fun!
We leave my town in Ohio, at 10pm on a Friday night, drive all night.
Get dropped off in Chinatown around 6:30am. Everyone gets to do their own thing around New York until around 9pm.
We are picked up at 9pm at Bryant Park, drive all night and get dropped off in my town at 6am Sunday morning. All this for $185.00
I love the charter bus, red eye trip. I am leading one this March to DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival. This trip is only $165 per person.
Below is my tea map....I plan on stopping at least 9 tea shops in the 15 hours in NYC ( I did only make it to 7 cafes).
I walked to Harney & Sons from Maman. It was beautiful day I was having so much fun watching people and looking at the fall leaves and decor...even a few Christmas windows were already popping up.
Then I saw the hanging sign, I had arrived!!
I am not sure what I expected, but this was not it. It is very much a tea store, with tea tastings in the back. I expected the tasting area to be larger and maybe more focus, but it was still very nice.

Now, I would enjoy doing this all day!!! Making these wonderful teas!
I looked when I got home and I could not believe I missed an Earl Grey flight of tea!!! The photo below is from the website, I think I has to be different than the day I was there, lol!
Walls of tea. What a dream.
This being the third tea of the day, you know I had to visit the restroom. And I have to say- best bathroom vibe!! I love the look and colors of this bathroom.
I wanted to go with a flight of teas and scones. My version of a Cream Tea.
I did the Celebration tea flight.
These were not all teas I loved, but I really enjoyed the tasting and the experience.
The white chocolate lavender scones with clotted cream were REALLY good too. They brought me back to my recent trip to England, the style, not the flavor. Most scones in England were plain scones. I may have enjoyed those more than the tea...sorry to say.
Wedding Tea was my favorite a 4 out of 5
Mother's Day, too much chamomile, I added syrup in this one 2 out of 5
Valentines Day, too much rose, 2 out of 5
Birthday Cake, hibiscus is too strong, there are too many flavors in this tea, 2 out of 5.
I was thrilled to visit the Harney & Tea shop in Soho. I have to say the staff was not overly friendly, but the tea was prepared properly and the scones delicious!! (And the bathroom was cute too).
I would go back again and try different tea, but get more scones for sure!
They had a variety of syrups to try in your tea.
I tried the lavender syrup!!! I only added it to one of the teas, the Mothers Day Tea.

I loved walking the streets of New York.
I stopped at this cute street fair. I bought these great origami crane earrings from this crafter. She learned to make these in Japan. There were so many choices and options, but I went with the red crane. The red crane just seemed to be iconic looking to me.
She was such a sweet gal, I enjoyed talking with her. I hope her art does very well.

On a side note, I wore these to my Japanese tea and the lady noticed and commented on how much she liked them...win win.
