They say Kombucha has lots of anti-microbial powers and is full antioxidants, it helps sooth ulcers and improves the function of your pancreas.   Helps with your digestion and arthritis. It supports your liver.  It improves your mood. it helps you loose weight.  It helps you detoxify ... This one I can say is true!  I have one friend who calls it her "poop juice".  I can say  I've never been so regular myself!!! It also reduces the risk of heart disease and they say prevents cancer.  also lots of nutrition. Helps with your good cholesterol. Boosts immunity.  Treats type 2 diabetes too. I can't say that you will have all these changes or experience any of these benefits.... I'm just listing some of the things they say about Kombucha.  I can say I love it and drink a lot of it :)

Higgins & Burke Chai for the Keurig

 

This is a good Chai from the Keurig- BUT.... I do recommend adding some milk after it is brewed. I like the taste and it cools it down so I can drink it sooner.

 

I have to admit I've not been overly pleased with tea pods from Keurigs. I think maybe because I'm not a fan of most bagged tea when I can have loose leaf tea... and the Keurig is even more broke down then bagged tea.  The Keurig info-mmercical went on and on how they work to make coffee taste just like you would in the store.  They used Starbucks as an example, they went on and on about the process to make it taste the same in your home as in the store.  I can say that the tea in the Keurig has been NOTHING like the tea in the store.  I'm finding some tea have Stevia  added to them, when the original does not... and I can't stand the Stevia aftertaste. I'll keep trying- but so far tea in the Keurig has been a miss for me.  Maybe they'll read this and offer me a job to help perfect the tea process!!

Honey in tea, not for me

A gal from church makes honey. I was excited to support her business so I bought a bottle. . I really wanted to like honey.  I've heard so many good things about eating... or in my case drinking... local honey.

I tried it several times in different kinds of teas, but I just found it too sweet.

 

I have a co-worker who DID NOT find it too sweet.  He downed the honey in about a week.  It did not go to waste. 

 

I really wish I liked it...

Smith- Kandy black tea

Happy 45th to me. My sister and her family in WA sent me flowers for my special day.  They were gorgeous!!

Mymom then sent me a fun card ...she made it!  She also gave me some fun tea. 

I love Smith tea. I had not tried this one before that I could recall.  This tea is a nice black tea, it does have a bold Ceylon note though.  I did not have milk, but I wish I would have had some on hand.  I think milk would have been a nice addition to the boldness of the tea.  I like flavored black teas, but if I have a more "straight" black tea I love to add milk.  if you want to be English proper with your tea... add your milk first, then your tea.

Last year I treated myself to some amazing tea from England.  I love love love Bluebird tea!!!  It's become my new favorite tea company.  Its even taken the place of Teavana for me. Why you ask? Well, for multiple reasons:

1. The flavors are just as good if not better

2. More variety  of teas

3. Teavana is no longer in business

4. The price is good too...BUT, the draw back is shipping! Shipping kills me.

 

I ordered a large variety of tea, and so far I am loving them!!  They have some blends I only drink cold brewed, grapefruit for example.

 While visiting friends in Denver we walked around downtown.  LoDo (Lower Downtown).  We went into the Market on Larimer Street .  What a great fun shop.  I picked up some "local" Colorado tea.

This tea is beautiful- the bright colors from the chamomile flower, the pepper corns and the cardamom pods blend so nicely.  The aroma is sweet and wonderful.  I love the look and the smell.

 

 I like this tea.  I am not a fan of chamomile- to be it has a buttery taste.  This tea has that buttery flavor, but it does work well with the lemongrass,  fennel and the cardamom- it gives is a somewhat spicy addition (which is nice).

 

Scrabble Tea Craft

 

I had so much fun making this tea Scrabble Tea board.  I tried to include all my favorite teas.  Just missing my Kombucha.  I enjoy a relaxing craft in the evening.  My nephew was very helpful to me in getting more teas on the board.

I'm enjoying a delicious cup of chai. This chai is amazing, one of my favorites I've ever made.

 

This is a green tea, so be sure that the water is less than 200 degrees.  You don't want to bruise the leaves. Steep this chai for five minutes.  I then added milk and sugar along with some redid whip

 

I add milk first- its the European way.

 

The smell of this chains amazing!! You can smell the herbal spice and cardamom

I gave lots of these out for Christmas gift!  I am a fan of the silicon tea bag.  It holds the tea well and small leaves don't "sneak" out of the bag.  The bag also cleans out SUPER easy.

 

I love my Basil Berry Blast tea. It is a white tea- so you have to remember two things...you have to keep your water at a lower temperature and you don't steep it as long!  These things play a huge part in how your tea tastes.  White teas like a temperature of 180 to 185° F and I tend to steep 2-3 minutes at the most.

I wish you could smell this tea!  It is so fresh and yummy

 

I blogged about this tea in 2013.  And just now when I went to get information from Teavana about the tea, it appears that the tea is no longer available....that is sad!  But, they do have other nice white teas.
