The Slow Train Cafe in Oberlin, Lavender Earl Grey Iced Tea

Abby and I were both in Vermilion for the Bible Missionary Conference at Beulah Beach Camp.  We wanted to take one of our afternoons and find teas in the area.  While we were out an about we saw a field of Sunflowers.  We popped out and snapped a few pics.

We were all over the place.  One of the towns we went to was Oberlin.   We were sad to find that The Local Coffee and Tea place was closed.  This was the second time we have tried to get tea here.

We walked across the street and went to the cute bakery and Abby bought some cake for her family to share.

This is a really cute bakery!  The Blue Rooster Bakehouse is adorable.

We then walked up the street and around the corner and went to The Slow Train Cafe.  This is the second time we have been here together.

I decided to try their Lavender Earl Grey Iced Tea.  with Homemade Lavender Syrup...but when I asked if it was local lavender, I was told it was a bottled syrup.  I was not impressed with the false advertising. They actually used Monin syrup.

There is indoor seating.

There is outdoor seating as well.

The Lavender Earl Grey had nice notes of lavender and yet I could still tell it was an Earl Grey based tea.

The lavender Earl Grey tea was really nice and the price was great.  But, they are getting a 3 tea cup rating because the claim to use homemade lavender syrup but this is a bottled syrup that  I have in my home.  Why say homemade when it is store bought?????

Maps is a great way to find things in your area.  I love to go to a new town and type in tea and see what is around me.

Woodstock, Sunshine Daydream Latte - Iced, Vermilion Ohio

I spent a week in Vermilion Ohio on vacation.  It was my summer camps 100th birthday.  It was a great week.  There were speakers, music and lots of friends.

One afternoon while in town I went on a tea run for my 4 girlfriends and myself.  I love the coconut lattes (the Sunshine Daydream) at Woodstock, so this was first choice to grab drinks.

I love the vibe in this place...the windows hanging up are my favorite.  But the bike table is a close second.  Everything about the decor is cool!

The food here is really good too.  I have eaten here a few times and always enjoyed the food.  The prices are a bit high, but the food is worth it.  I have never left hungry or dissatisfied with the food.

When I was here in May I got the Sunshine Latte and I have to say I was disappointed.  But, this time was great.  No wonder I have not been able to duplicate it- it must be a hard latte to make.  But, the barista did a fantastic job with this drink.

The coconut chai was great and I loved the cinnamon and the coconut flakes.  This drink hit the spot,  i would give it 5 tea cups this trip.  The price is good, the flavor was delicious.

I headed back to the pool with teas for my friends.  It was a great relaxing afternoon in the sun.

I think this may have been the first time in 5 or 6 years that I have lazed by a pool.  It was wonderful though to hang with friends and drink tea.

Sometimes you need to take the time to relax and enjoy yourself.  It was a hot one, but I admit this did fill up my tank.

While in town, I found my favorite animal...a moose.  I could not resist a quick photo while I was filing up my car with gas.

There is nothing like a Lake Erie sunset!!!

SureHouse White Peach Tea Summer Sodas

I just love when people surprise me with tea things to try.  I love that people see a mug or tea pot and think of me.  Or see a fun new tea drink and think- "I think Kerrie needs this today".

My coworker surprised me with a White Peach Tea Summer Soda.  I was touched and could not wait to try it.

I have to say it was a miss for me. I did not think the tea and carbonation worked.  They were using a sparkling soda and I think it diluted the tea flavor.  I really wanted to like it.  I had tried sparking water with tea at my house and I could not get the two to work together, I was hoping this was something I could get into it, but sadly it wasn't.

To me, this tea soda was a miss.  I didn't like the mix of bubbles and tea. I didn't get peach notes or even tea notes with this drink.

Tea Party at work

I work with a guy who has three little girls.  Last year when we had the shut down I sent the oldest girl some tea and then we had virtual tea party.  I loved it we spent about an hour drinking tea, her sharing with toys with me, telling me Bible stories and just having some fun chit chat.  I loved every moment.

Well, now the girls were coming to the home office, so I decided to throw them a tea party.

My table started out pretty simple.  I soon decided I needed to add treats and bring in hats for all of us to wear.

I picked up this tea set from Melissa and Doug.  I love their great products.

I soon realized I needed a bigger table to all 4 of us and the tea!

How sweet are they?  I made them bubble tea along with 2 other teas.

Bubble tea might have been a hit here with this one.

This one loved mixing the teas and also adding jellybeans.

I would not necessarily recommend jellybeans in tea....

If you get the chance to have some little ones over for tea, I recommend it.  It doesn't take much and the kids love it.

Overall this tea party was a huge success.  I think the girls enjoyed the tea and cookies...maybe the cookies the most.  But, it was worth it.

Boba Bowl, Butterfly Pea Tea with Lavender Milk and Blueberry Bubbles

Downtown Wooster ohio has a bubble tea shop!  How fun is that?  I needed to check it out....

You pick your base tea, the flavor and then the toppings.  They have a nice amount of bases, flavors and toppings.  I am very impressed with all they have to offer.

The staff is friendly and helpful, as this was my first time visiting them.

Place has nice amount of seating and everything was clean and nice.

They also had some specialty drinks too.

I ordered the Butterfly Pea Tea as my base...butterfly pea tea is an herbal tea with not a ton of flavor and it is caffeine free.  I then asked for Lavender Milk as my flavor and Blueberry Bubbles as the topping.

The flavors were nice and I was pleased with what I was given.  The only down side for me is the cost.  I get that they need to make money and I hope they do really well.  I want them to thrive and be in business for a long time, but $5 for a small bubble tea is just too much for me.  And maybe because I can make bubble tea myself that is part of the reason I think it is pricey, but I would think that $5 would be the large drink, not $7.  But, maybe the novelty of bubble tea with keep people coming.

The flavors are good, the staff was very pleasant, the store was clean.  The only reason they get 4 tea cups and not 5 is the price.
