A couple of free afternoons I explored the Covent Gardens area.
I was looking for tea and second hand shops.
I just love exploring new areas. And London feels so safe that I had not qualms about checking out the city.
I went to TWG tea. They have a really nice size store with lots and lots of tea.
I then wondered around around Covent Garden a little more and really enjoyed the sites and sounds of London!
I passed several bubble tea shops too. I am bit over bubble tea. I want true tea and not teas with powders. So if they make it with real tea, then I am in.
I passed by the Les Mis theatre. Back in 1997 I saw Les Mis in London. I loved it.
I also did find some second hand stores. I tried Rokit.
I bought a fun necklace for my friend and one for myself.
I also found Oxfam, which is a second hand store with some also new items.
Selfridges- Department Store.
This was around 2 mile walk...in the wrong direction. I was looking for Mariage Freres, which was about 5 minutes from where I was in Covent Garden...but I put in their "other location" and ended up on a 45 minute walk...just rolled with it...and took a cab back to the hotel!!!
Finding the good, I got exercise and I got to see the famous Selfridges store.
So iconic London!
I love the history and uniqueness of all the buildings!
Just beautiful buildings and flowers everywhere!
I did find this bubble tea store that had real tea, not a powered tea base.
This was a very nice refreshing watermelon tea. I did have jellies added. On a warm tea this tea hit the spot!! The man was very helpful too.
Take some time to explore the area you are visiting. You can also research a head of time to be sure to see specific items...or just head out.
Ask around and see what is near you, maybe you will find a hidden gem known only to the locals.
