Authentic Thai Iced Tea, One Brew

I am a fan of Thai Tea, it takes me immediately to Thailand.  There is no other tea like it.  I found this authentic Thai Tea and decided to try it.

To make the tea, I heated the water and steeped the tea and then added ice.
The tea is really good, even without the condensed milk.

I am enjoying this tea and it does have a Thai taste for sue!  Next time I make it I want to add the condensed milk.  The condensed milk is definitely Thai!!!

This is in Thailand, you can see all the condensed milk!

Ohio Tea Company- Blueberry Fields

From the website,

"This fruity and aromatic black tea blend is made with actual freeze-dried blueberries. It steeps up medium-bodied, a little sweet, and makes you think of summertime as you sip this tea. This black tea also makes a wonderfully refreshing iced tea! Blueberry Fields has helped numerous people break the Diet Pepsi in the Morning habit. Throw some leaves in a pitcher, add tap water, and throw it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, strain the leaves and you have a pitcher of great fruity iced black tea to help you make it through the day.

Ingredients:

Full leaf black tea"

This is a great blueberry tea.  I love the aroma and flavor of this tea.  This is another tea that is great iced.  I actually think I like this tea better iced.

Fez Iced Tea, Steve Smith Tea

 2013
Fez tea with Steve Smith of Smith Tea!!!

2019

Spring harvested full leaf Mao Feng China green tea, Pacific Northwest spearmint leaves and Australian lemon myrtle.

I am a bug fan of Fez tea, by Smith tea.  I was super excited when I was in Portland OR and I found that they had a Fez Iced Tea.

There is so much tea in these bags!!!!

This green Fez iced tea does not need to be steeped very long, only 3-5 minutes.  Also, I only heat the water to about 180 degrees.   I also add about 1/3 C of sugar.

After heating the kettle water to 180 degrees, I pour that water (which fills up the pitcher about half way).  I let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes.  Then I take the tea bag out and I fill the pitcher up the rest of the way with water.

I use the bag and make 2 pitchers of tea.

This tea is really great, it's light and bright.  The spearmint mixes so well with the lemon myrtle.   I am a big fan of this tea hot and iced!!!

Ohio Tea Company, Milk Oolong and Celebrating Shakespaere - it would have been 16 years

From the website, "Hand-rolled oolong with a milky richness and thick mouthfeel, enjoyable over several steepings.

Ingredients: Milk Oolong

Origin:China"

Oolong is my favorite kind of tea.  I love the flavor.  I like green tea- but not straight green tea, it has to be flavored.  I also like black tea, but not straight black tea, it has to be flavored.  But, oolong tea does not have to be flavored for me to enjoy.

This milk oolong is so great.  It's creamy and delicious.

This tea is rolled up when it's dry, but once you add water and steep it the leaves unfurl. I love the care that is given to making this tea.  It is unique and wonderful.

"Different styles of oolong tea can vary widely in flavor. They can be sweet and fruity with honey aromas, or woody and thick with roasted aromas, or green and fresh with complex aromas, all depending on the horticulture and style of production. Several types of oolong tea, including those produced in the Wuyi Mountains of northern Fujian, such as Da Hong Pao, are among the most famous Chinese teas. Different varieties of oolong are processed differently, but the leaves are usually formed into one of two distinct styles. Some are rolled into long curly leaves, while others are 'wrap-curled' into small beads, each with a tail. The former style is the more traditional."

I got this mug in honor of Shakespeare.

November 14th would have been 16 years with my car, Shakespeare. We were one month shy hitting that anniversary.    I miss her a lot, but so glad I was able to have the time I did have.

Starbuck's Chai

I was wrong!!!  Yes, you heard it, I was wrong!!  I get these monthly $3  gift cards from Verizon Up.  I was out and my tea cup was empty, so I decided to use my $3 gift card.

I decided to try a Chai Latte, I have not had a Chai from Starbucks in probably 6 or 7 years.  And last time I had one I was not a fan.  But, as I always say in my blog, try things twice- you could be wrong the first time.  Well, I tried it again and I thought it was fabulous!!

I wonder if last time I had the bag chai and not the Chai Latte.  It was so good and spicy.  I was shocked how much I enjoyed it.  I thought I would try it since it was free and it would give e something to drink.

So, I was wrong. Starbucks has great Chai Lattes!!

Also- if you you have Verizon and you don't have UP yet, get it.  It is free.

Ingredients

Milk, Water, Chai Tea Concentrate [An Infusion Of (Water, Black Tea, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cloves, Natural Flavours, Star Anise), Sugar, Honey, Ginger Juice, Natural Flavours, Vanilla, Citric Acid]

Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange, Herbal Berry Essence

Organic herbal tea with hibiscus, chamomile, rooibos and rosehips

A gal at work picked up this tea in PA. She was kind enough to let me try it. I would have to say the aroma was really great. The flavor was just okay. It had chamomile AND rooibos in it, I don't care for either of those things. But, saying that, neither of those flavors were super strong, so it was okay.

I did actually finish my cup, which doesn't always happen when a tea has chamomile or rooibos in it...and this one had both.

Plum Ginger Hibiscus Tea, Panera

Went to see Downton Abbey with my parents and aunt.  It was really good, I loved it.  I brought props with me, just for the fun of it.

After the movie we headed to Panera.  They have such great food.  I got the Spicy Thai salad- it is my favorite.  I then tried their Plum Ginger Hibiscus tea.  It is great and SUGAR FREE!
This tea is also caffeine free sine it is an herbal tea.  The plum plays nicely with hibiscus and I actually don't even notice the ginger.  Try it next time you are there.

I love that the cups tell you the sugar in the drinks.  A cola has over 17 teaspoons of sugar in it, the Plum Ginger Hibiscus tea has ZERO sugar.  I love that.  And the flavor is really good.

Such a fun night with the "seniors" in my life.  I love spending time with them.  I joked that our outing was there wellness check and that they passed.
